Q:Can this be used to remove broken sprinkler heads ? If not. Any recommendations as to what shovel that can be used.

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes. it's great to lift the sod sections after you use this to cut them. Then using this again dig down gently . Finally you will need to use a small garden shovel spade scoop to get the last few inches of earth. Then you can clear out the rest by hand and replace you parts.

      by|Oct 18, 2019

        A:  That’s all I use it for.

A:  Sure why not. Just dig around the broken sprinkler head down to where the broken riser is. And replace all broken parts.

Drain Spade did exactly what I purchased it for. Used it to dig about a six inch wide 18 inch deep ditch to run a drain line and pop up away from house for the rain gutter downspouts. If this bent or snapped in half for someone I would say they were not using it properly. Use common sense and don't try to pry on too much hard or rocky dirt at one time. Worked excellent on soft wet ground and took it easier while digging out the bigger rocks. It also worked perfectly to dig a small tunnel under a sidewalk to run the pipe. I liked that it had a place to push shovel down into ground with my foot, other spades did not have this feature.

Snapped second time I used it
The handle snapped the second time I used this spade. Wasn't applying a lot of force trying to dig up a bush. Love their advertising "built for a lifetime", warrantied for 90 days.

great fence post shovel as well
I used this shovel to dig holes for my fence post. I find this easier to use than the fence post digger. It was pretty easy to dig a 16in. hole

                  Good strong tool
This is the tool you don’t need every day, but when you need it you are very glad you have it. I used to have one like this few years ago; my neighbor borrowed it and later on moved away with it. On my property I have few places with tiny underground water springs popping out every spring and then disappearing during the summer. I use this tool for digging narrow trenches to give to the running water direction which way to flow away from the house and remaining property. I also use this spike when moving plants from flower bed because with this tool it’s easy to dig deep without disturbing big area around. Its great tool when you need to dig much deeper than with the shovel or regular spade and anywhere you need to dig with just narrow profile. The spade is very well made and is very strong, with the right length of handle. (I am 5’5” tall.) It’s not heavy. The spade feels comfortable to work with.
