Q:Does the lifetime warranty cover dullness? I would assume so as that directly impedes on the use of the shovel. Has anyone dealt with Razor-Back on warranty claims before?

The perfect transfer shovel, I don't now how I managed so long without it! This shovel made it simple to move the earth necessary to lay my paver stones, and remove it in a level manner. I am a 73 year old woman, and this was a simple job. It proves the old saying, "You can't beat the right tool for the job."

I really wanted to like this shovel. And although it was great initially, it somehow got nicked on the shaft and exposed fiberglass type material from stem. I thought these pro line of union tools were meant to withstand the toughest standard but this incident occurred with just shoveling soil to a dump cart. dunno if razorback has a warranty process that's tolerable but may not buy additional tools from this line.

I recently received the PowerEdge 48 inch square point shovel and it is a great tool. We recently had a load of crushed seashell delivered to do landscaping in our back yard and used this shovel to move the shell. Prior to having this shovel, we used a chisel point shovel to move the shell to distribute it around the yard. I can honestly say that having the right tool for the job (square point shovel Vs. chisel point) makes all of the difference in the world. The new RazorBack square shovel made the job so much easier. We were able to move more shell much more efficiently than using a traditional chisel point. The ease in which we were able to distribute and move the shell was quite noticeable. The cushion grip is also a nice feature on the shovel. It is truly a quality product and the perfect tool for doing the job.

Well designed and well built. The steel is heavy gauge, no worries on bending it. The edge is sharpened making it easier to start into the ground, but not so sharp that it is a hazard. The fiberglass handle is strong and does not flex. The top of the handle is cushioned for your grip. No more worries about wooden handle tools that deteriorate in the weather. Shove is the right length for work, no bending over and ending up with a sore back. The fiberglass handle is securely attached to the blade portion of the shovel. Overall an excellent tool.

This is a nice shovel, they have sharped the leading edge and call it a "poweredge" which is a nice feature, but in dirt or rock will dull fairly quickly and will need to be re-sharpened. The metal seems to be of a decent quality and the handle feels good and is nice and stiff. It has a hard rubber type sleeve on the lower 12 inches of the handle, I don't care much for that as I like my shovel handles to be smoother and this has an edge, it would be ok if it ran farther up the handle, I tend to grab the shovel right about where the seam is. Also I think for me it would tend to cause blisters, on the plus side it does increase your grip on the handle. I think this feature would come down to personal preference. The blade of the shovel is about 9.75" wide, 11" tall and the overall length of the shovel and handle is about 60". All in all a nicely built shovel that works just fine.

The Poweredge square edge shovel is commerical quailty and well built. It is heavier and thicker than other spade shovels I own. The fiberglass handle is well made and feels good while using, reducing fatigue. I use it around my property to shovel gravel, move dirt and work in the garden. It moves much more dirt than a spade shovel when volume is needed. The feet rest is sturdy when digging force is needed.

TRANSFER SHOVEL PROVIDES GREATER EFFICIENCY — Two features of the Razorback PowerEdge 48.75 in. Fiberglass Handle Square Point Shovel set it apart from my previous transfer shovel: one is the sharp edge on the bottom of the shovel and the other is the deeper scoop. These features allow me to get a larger shovel load in less time. The photo shows that the Razorback also has a slightly longer handle and accompanying cushion hand grip. These features add to the shovel’s utility. The one downside is that the Razorback shovel is heavier. However, it is well balanced so that should not be a major problem. I have used it for spreading top soil and for placing hardwood mulch around landscaping plants. The longer handle and greater capacity make these tasks go faster. The shovel has a lifetime warranty and is assembled in the USA.

This Poweredge 48 in. Wood Handle Square Point Shovel , Is just the shovel you need at your home. Nice weight to it. We do a lot around here with shovels ! It has a cushioned end grip for control and comfort. Foot step for stability and for increased driving force. Sharper than standard transfer shovel blades. I do recommend you try these shovels .

High-end, commercial quality. The weight and balance is perfect, easy to use for extended periods. I tried putting my weight against the shaft of the shovel and it didn't bend at all. The square point is true and rests perfectly against the ground, cement slab, whatever. It has good sized, extremely strong foot rests when extra force is needed. A square point shovel has so many uses, from generally transferring dirt, gravel, mulch, etc... because it's square the area can be cleaned to the surface. Flip the shovel over and it can be used to level an area (spread out dirt, mulch etc, all while keeping the area level and flat). It works well for digging trenches (French drains), squaring post holes, etc. My go to shovel.

20-30 years ago, the company I worked for bought only RazorBack shovels, as they were the longest wearing and strongest thing available. Although they appear lighter than I remember, these are significantly better than the other store brands. The most visible is the length of the handle socket, it's longer, transferring the leverage farther up the handle
