Q:How long will these realistically last after installed? I am looking for a cheap blackout option to go behind our curtains for a nursery.

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi there, Adhesive shelf life is not a set timeframe due to environmental variables, but it’s normally measured in years, not months. As long as your shades are properly installed and cared for, they should last a while.

Q:Can this be used for sky lights that are at an angle?
      by|Jun 4, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Hello- it would depend on how deep of an angle, as the shade may not stay in place since it only has adhesive on one end.

I love the purpose of them but dislike the fact that for some reason they fall off and I realized it depends on how you position it pic the one on my left as I’m facing the phone that will fall off you have to position it the way on the right so that it’s more secure I also wish there was wider options I personally didn’t see any if they do have them but I wasn’t sure how that worked there were only a few on stock also it was my first time buying but for smaller skinny windows I actually was able to cut part of it off and it still look like it came Like that already

They serve its purpose, but you need to use some tacks because they will continuously come down

          Cheap yet effective
Purchased these for our baby’s south facing bedroom. We didn’t want to install curtains as we already have expensive window coverings that are only “light filtering”. These were easy to install and work well. The photo included has the paper shades partially folded so you can see how effective they are.

            Works surprisingly well
Used one package to cover 2 small windows and just added command strips to the bottom half. It is kind of hard to cut so be sure to use a sharp utility knife over scissors. But overall, totally worth it!! Once hung it doesn’t look super cheap and it works well to block the light.

              Does the job~
It works well, especially if you have a window air conditioner. See my pictures. They can be cut to fit the window and I believe they were 36" wide. They also come with two cheap plastic clips. I actually broke my scissors trying to cut the shade while it was bunched up so I used a utility knife to do it instead & used a scissors for cutting the area around the air conditioner. Make sure you inspect the package to make sure it isn't bent or torn. They can bend easy but still, I recommend these.

                Best darkening shades
Purchased these for the Master bedroom. Live in Phoenix and the Master gets so hot and gets the morning light. I hung them with thumb tacks knowning the adhesive wouldn’t hold up in the Arizona sun. All I can say is WOW I can sleep longer with the darkness and the room has really cooled down. Installed them under the plantation shutters. Best investment so happy with them
Great for blackout, but terrible adhesive.
Excellent room darkening, which I need as I work 3rd shift, but the adhesive they use to mount it to the top of the window frame doesn't stick. I've got 4 of these blinds and I've had to use a staple gun to keep them up, no matter how clean or prepped the area was beforehand. I'd probably buy a roll of double sided 3M tape next time to make hanging them easier... But they will absolutely make your room as dark as night.
                    Looks great easy installing
If I can do it you can too. These look really good. Don’t know how long they will last but for now they will do. Very easy installation.

                      Blocks Sun but…
I was so excited when I learned about this shade. We have a glass front entry door and the sun shines thru heating up the living room. I measured and cut beyond the glass because I was sticking it to the door wood the glass was too hot and I figured it would fall off. I measured twice cut to size (which was a little difficult and I used a new exacto knife). Then untaped and hung it and bam! There’s a paper imperfection right in the middle and it’s so obvious because the sun peers thru. Bummed!

No need for curtains! Must have
While i was skeptical of paper blinds, i bit the bullet and got these because how can you not for $6? These are PERFECT. With a window AC unit, it was a no brainer. No more fighting with the curtains and old blinds to make it blackout around the ac. I couldn’t be happier!
