Q:Does it block heat from coming in?

      Answer This Question

A:  In that the black ones block light better than the white one, Yes. However I would not view them as insulating by any measure. We need a dark room to sleep and (cut properly) these provided that better than expected. Good option temporarily but not a long term solution. Very easy to install.

A:  It is not insulated but does block the sun well which reduces heat

A:  They block out some heat, mainly because the blinds are already closed. These are a heavy paper and they work really good. But they are not made of insolation material. But they help.

A:  Hi Jade, thank you for the great question. We do offer paper shades in the color White, but they will be Light Filtering, not Blackout. If we can help with any other product questions, please let us know. Redi Shade Customer Care

A:  I think it only comes in gray or black if you want light blocking shades.

No need for curtains! Must have
While i was skeptical of paper blinds, i bit the bullet and got these because how can you not for $6? These are PERFECT. With a window AC unit, it was a no brainer. No more fighting with the curtains and old blinds to make it blackout around the ac. I couldn’t be happier!

I was surprised at how great these work! Especially for the price. I have a bay window in my master bedroom and for years I've only had blackout curtains on the large center window, so both of the side windows would let in a lot of light even with my current blinds. I installed these behind my current blinds and they work awesome. The material is slightly thicker than regular construction paper, but it blocks out the light extremely well. The instructions recommend using a box cutter to cut the shade to the desired width, and that was the only pain in the butt as far as the install process goes. I tried scissors, but they weren't sharp enough to cut the shade while it's fully compressed. The paper is just really thick when folded up. Imagine folding up a piece of paper a bunch of times into an accordion, and just snipping the end off. The cut would be extremely straight. The only problem is it's really thick when the shade is fully compressed, so it is slightly difficult to cut (but still manageable). Next time I would probably try and find some heavy duty shears or something to give it a single cut. I highly recommend these.

                      Game Changer!
Wow! I was very cautious to buy these but im so relieved at how easy they were to put up and their overall look! My one year old kept ripping down the cord ones we had so it was time for a change! Very pleased with these blinds

                        Great Product!
I believe I did a review a while back on these but only just now found the photo. Hate to possibly double up on the 5-star review but I think the photos I finally found are worth adding. We used these on two sets of French doors while we were waiting to have draperies made. They are great for their affordability and ease in use. I did want to say that the width is better cut over a cutting board with a razor against a metal straight-edge instead of using scissors. The glass in our French doors is longer than the shade and so we used two-shades per window, cutting and adding some to the bottom of each. Yes, you must fan-fold them up by hand but, for this price, who cares about that? For a permanent residence you'll probably eventually want to have some sort of permanent window treatment created. These are great solutions for a temporary situation or even one in which you'll be spending a few years before moving on. Not classy but 100% functional and their ease in use cannot be beat.

                          Blackout Quality
My boyfriend works night shift and needs absolute pitch black. For being so cheap these work absolutely incredible. Installation was literally cutting to size and sticking inside window frame. Adhesive works very well and you can peel/restick if you want to reposition them.

Is good to block the sunlight, and you can cut it the size you want. But is temporary paper.

Great for temporary use. Very easy to put up, just cut to size and apply with adhesive to wall or windowsill.

                            Nice-looking, good price.
Overall, very satisfied, especially given the price point. The adhesive may not hold up in high-heat rooms. Also (perhaps unsurprisingly), if you install one, and notice it’s not centred, peel it off, and re-stick it, it will not stay up in its new position. (Adhesive does not damage paint, though, so that’s great.)
