Q:Do i have to buy 110-Volt Hybrid Solar Adapter for Attic Fans? is it necessary?
by|Jul 4, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  You absolutely do not need an adapter unless you want one. It will allow the fan to run at night when the sun is down but your attic is still hot or at least above 80°. Many customers are happy with the fan pulling out hot air during the day when the sun is out. But because it’s Solar, it will only operate with sun power unless you have the adapter

Q:Can this be used with a metal roof?

    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Yes, definitely as long as you can screw down to the deck and flash under the middle. You might want to consider our Gable Solar attic fan if you have gable vents

        Works as it should!
The fan is doing what it’s supposed to! We had a few hot days since installment and the temperature difference between inside and outside was quite noticeable. Would recommend this fan.

The fan is keeping our attic at least 10 degrees cooler that the outside temperature. Works well, may buy a second unit to install before Summer.

This was a straight forward install for our storage shed that we do not have power....its very quiet and it cools it down well and turns on automatically when it gets 80 degrees..I did have install and 1 inch border so the fan would not hit the gable that I bought as well

Easy to install. Put this over a cedar 14 inch vent and used Owens Corning project board for a tight seal and reduce vibration to reduce noise. Exterior noise is similar to a dryer vent. Once I add attic insulation it should reduce the small whine coming into the room. Very nice draft coming from the vent now. This is over a 12 by 20 foot one car garage. I would not recommend for any space larger but it does a great job in this application.

Works amazingly well. You can feel decreased heat pressure coming down from the attic. You can also tell that the A/C strains less and actually cycles on and off. The fan is not loud by any means but if you live in a neighborhood where your house is only a few feet from your neighbor's window, then it can be heard. It just sounds like the hum of a bathroom vent fan. I recommend the hybrid adapter since my fan runs until about 11pm in July in Southern Ca. Customer service is excellent!
