Yes, the Ring Alarm Keypad (2nd Gen) is designed to work with any of our Ring Alarm Base Stations that your Ring Alarm Keypad (1st Gen) worked with as a direct replacement for it. As well as, working with your older systems it also still offers some new emergency buttons for quick access. The keypad has a motion sensor and there?s an option in the app to have the backlight come on when you move near it.

The keys only illuminate when you push one of the buttons
