Rust-Oleum 10-year Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating is an advanced, metallic pigmented coating used for rustproofing and weatherproofing surfaces with superior protection against UV damage and corrosion. Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating reflects heat, protects against mild acid and alkali fumes and supports increased energy efficiency on low/steep slope metal roofs, sidewalls and other roofing systems. Can be used as a reflective coating for built-up roofing and modified bitumen systems.
  • 60% reflective roof coating with 11.4% metallic flake content provides energy efficiency and extends roof service life
  • Metallic pigmented formula cleans up with mineral spirits
  • Waterproofs and rust proofs metal roofing systems
  • Apply 1-coat direct to tight rust, no primer needed

            A:  From the info on the container: 1. All surfaces must be clean and free of dirt, grease, oil, mold, algae, loose paint, etc. I just used a stiff push broom followed by a leaf blower to clean the surface. 2. Air temp must not be below 40 degrees F. or when rain is imminent. I used a wallpaper paste brush to apply on the roof of a porch that had a prior coating of a different aluminum coating.

                  We applied Rust-Oleum Roof Coating to extend the life of our metal roof. It was very easy to use, We covered about 1200 sq. feet. It took two people coordinating mixing and application about 9 hours, including a lunch break. Application and clean-up easy, but both people are experienced contractors and knew what they were doing. Unfortunately I do not have before and after pictures. Wish I did because it would show the proverbial "night and day" difference. Highly recommend and would use again.
