A: Thanks for reaching out! Rust-Oleum Automotive Acrylic Enamel Spray Paint cannot be applied directly to galvanized metal. Oil based paints are not compatible with the zinc in galvanized metal, it will not adhere. First prime with Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Universal Bonding Primer, you can then top coat with the Automotive Spray Paint. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Stops-Rust-12-oz-Universal-Bonding-Primer-Spray-6-Pack-285011/205926957 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6
A: Rust-Oleum Automotive Acrylic Enamel Spray Paint does not need to be sealed. This product dries to a very durable, UV resistant coating. You can use a semi-gloss finish if desired, but it is not required. It is not true that a flat finish is porous and can chalk up or fade over time. With proper preparation, application and maintenance, a flat finish will last just as long as another finish.
