Can the White Gloss Dry Erase Paint also be used as a screen for a PowerPoint presentation just like a regular painted wall can be used?

Yes! You may need to sand tho between coats to smooth out the texture.

Does the kit include the primer and stuff a and b?

Asked by: Mlpkid
Rust-Oleum Dry Erase Kit does not include a primer. The kit includes only Part A (activator) and Part B (base) that easily mix together and is ready to paint immediately after thoroughly mixing. If you want to use a primer, we recommend Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer for best results. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Zinsser-Bulls-Eye-1-2-3-1-gal-White-Water-Based-Interior-Exterior-Primer-and-Sealer-2001/100398391

Can you use dry erase board cleaner?

We painted a wall with the dry erase board paint, and for the most part it comes off with the eraser - but some of the darker colors leave a faint mark - can we use a dry erase board cleaner to get this off?

I have a whiteboard that someone wrote in with permanent marker. I've tried the removal trick where you go over the permanent marker with dry-erase marker and then erase both -- and it does work! But there is still a ghost of the permanent marker remaining that I'd like to remove. Would it work to spray your dry erase kit over the ghost?

Customer Reviews

16 oz. Gloss White Dry Erase Kit is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 164.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fine Product First, I would suggest priming the wall no matter what color (light or dark) your wall is. We had a light green wall and we had to apply more coats than called for to get it to cover. However, upon mixing the cans the paint was a lot thinner than normal paint, like the other reviews said, but I didn't find it to be messy thin. I used the foam roller as suggested and felt it went on just fine. The box says 2 coats should do, I put on 3 full coats and then spot coated with the little bit of remaining paint on the spots that looked a bit lighter. We wrote on it for the first time last night and it was great - no problems erasing either, though after reading reviews we made sure to get a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser before attempting a 'normal' eraser. The Magic Eraser worked beautifully! We are now leaving some stuff on there for a few days to see if that will be any different to erase. I think this is a great product and would use it again in a heartbeat. Very affordable as well!

This is a cool product and after researching the cost of other products, the Rustoleum product is still the cheapest option. Drawbacks: you need to mix the 2 parts like and epoxy. You should plan on needing 2 kits if you are doing a vertical surface-or- mix in small batches 1:4 ratio

I am a visual person, so, I need to draw almost everything a read for school and learning purposes (molecular biology, signaling pathways, etc.), so, I researched for many items before getting to this paint, which, BTW, was my brother's suggestions. I was hesitant, because there a lot of adhesive white boards, as well as way too expensive "pro" kits that promise a lot. Well long story short, I saw this one here, I read Katy's review and steps, and bought it. I wanted a big part of my basement's wall for this, and so I did. I used only 1 can, 3 layers and about 7x4. Man, I love this "board," if you can call it that. It's great, useful, and well, it was CHEAP! Follow Katy's instructions, and then, paint. You won't regret it. And for writing purposes I'm using EXPO markers, and they are great. NO lines or anything after use. I would recommend the EXPO white board care spray. This helps to keep your board SUPER clean. Great great choice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from excellent deal Honestly, for 20 dollars this product is wonderful. As a college student (engineering, so it GETS its use!), this product is one of the best investments I've ever made. However, if I was to do it over, I would have: A) sanded the wall, gradually increasing to a much finer grit to achieve a desirably smoother finish. B) used a more expensive (micro fiber) roller. C) stirred rather than shook the cans as it seems to have created bubbles in the final product. Overall though, I am very pleased with how this turned out. Additionally, I split the product into 4 parts, allowing the final two (total of 4 coats for a 3.5X4ft Area) coats to completely dry in between one another. I found that if I allowed it to dry as instructed, 30 mins or to touch, it was so tacky it stuck to the roller during the layering process (again this could've been the cheap, CHEAP roller's fault). One last note, apply VERY thin coats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fully satisfied I'm a pretty cheap and broke college student so I was hesitant in paying $20 but it was all worth it. Every time someone comes over people love to draw on it. I used 3 coats but there was enough paint to paint a large section of my bedroom wall, some in my sister's room and there was 1/3 of the paint left over(which sadly went to waste because you have to use all of it in less than an hour and I was way too tired to paint anymore). I was super skeptical at first because it seemed so light at first but it definitely looked a lot better after the 3 days. The only problem I could see someone having is if your wall is textured. Mine's is very slightly but not enough to affect it but I could see it being hard to draw on a bumpy wall. Now when I need to remember something it's the first thing I look at when I wake up to because it's right in front of my bed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product..but pace yourself ! I decided to try this product on my tables for the writing center. It is extremely easy to use but don't rush the process. Before applying be sure to use a primer and allow it to dry overnight before applying this product. In addition , use a foam roller to ensure you have a smooth finish. This product does require you to take your time. It is not like regular paint. It is like pouring milk out of a jug so you have to be sure you line the surface you are painting with painters tape because it is going to run some and you don't want it to get on areas where the paint should not be. Once you apply your first coat you have to allow it to dry about 20min then apply the 2nd coat. The paint can't be reused so you have to use it all in one setting. I was able to cover 2 tables with one kit. My students are going to enjoy writing directly on the table.one other tip, use basic dry erase markers like blue, black, red, brown, ....no neon colors and use a magic eraser as your eraser and not the usual dry eraser. I hope I was helpful in helping you determine if this product is for you! Shun, 7/2016

The tricky part was that after you mix it together, you have a limited timespan to use it, and I had to buy a second kit to put the recommended second coat on. My library circulation desk surface is smooth, white, shiny, and dry erase markers wipe right off! My post-it-note and doodlepad consumption is about to go way down! An old Formica coffee table from the faculty room is a collaboration and doodling table for my students.
