Dark Color Cabinet Kit (9-Piece)

I bought this kit to redo a small vanity in the guest bathroom. The vanity was a praline oak builders grade cabinet and was very outdated. I’m not very handy at all but I must say this kit was amazing. I followed the directions to a T. Clean well and degloss before doing anything else. Next comes two coats of paint, which covered mine nicely. Next came the stain. I was going to leave the vanity gray but the countertop has a yellow tint so I was afraid it wouldn’t look right. The stain is tricky getting the amount taken off with the cheesecloth provided. I left mine a little heavier than some may like. Then the protective top coat. You must get it on evenly and make sure it doesn’t pool in the corners as it will turn yellow. All-in-all, I’m very happy with the results. I highly recommend!

I did my homework on using this product. I watched the youtube videos many times, read the provided instructions, & read multiple product reviews. I ollowed the instructions/recmmendations used top quatly brushes & was extremely patience during the entire process. I did read a few reviews that said over time the poly will make the cabinets look yellow, though it was only 1 or 2 reviews it happened to me. 3 weeks later. DO NOT BUY DO NOT USE! It Now i have to hire a pro to come fix this $$

I used the rust oleum kit in my bathroom and behrs semigloss paint in my kitchen. The rust oleum turned out so much better, I kick myself for not using it in the kitchen. From the reviews it seems the white color is giving customers the most problems. I used a dark gray. Even if you use white you have to go to the paint counter for them to add tint to the base coat. I needed about 3 coats but had very smooth coverage and didn't show brush strokes as semigloss did. 3+ years, still looking great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our kitchen cabinets were the most outdated! I wanted to try and see if this helped. I am in the middle of the paint job still, but we decided to do it ourselves and not hire a professional. So, it is going slower because of lack of time only, but that is not an issue with the paint at all. Plus, if you go by the directions and do some research on things you can make it look like a professional! Our cabinets are starting to look like new and more modern again. I absolutely recommend this product. Our old dirty looking orange-like wood cabinets are now white and more presentable. It is like they had a whole new make over. I just need to do the counter tops now using something else, but am sure I can find the materials to finish off this very much worth it job. My kitchen is going to look unrecognizably fantastic when visitors come over. I feel like I want to scream this from the rooftops about how much I love this product and how it saved me much more money by not hiring a painter. I used a sponge brush and didn't eliminate using the top coat either. I went with my gut instincts and used the product as I thought was most specified for my older cabinets. We are still in the process of finishing but so far where I tested things they look fabulous! If you are still not sure of it, do a test on a smaller area where it won't be seen a lot. You can also bring to the store and have them tint the color to a different shade for you if desired. The KRUD KUTTER which was included is a handy product to clean and degrease the surfaces of the cabinets, I used it several times as well to have a fresh clean workable area every time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am blown away with the before and after look of my cabinets after using the Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformation Kit. My cabinets were a dingy looking hello wish tan color before. The pure white Rust-Oleum made a huge difference. They look brand new now. This was so easy to apply and the pain went on nice and smooth. I did have to apply a few coats to get a complete cover however the directions do say it will take a couple of coats of the paint. I let it dry for a few hours before applying the clear top coat. This kit also comes with a bottle of degreaser that I used on my cabinets before applying the paint. The degreaser took all the grease off with such ease. I am super happy with how it all turned out and I would definitely recommend this kit!

While this is a decent paint, it does NOT cover 100sq ft with one or two coats. I mean it could but the coverage would suck. FIVE COATS is what I had to use to actually make it look GOOD. That said, I would use it again but I would read reviews first so I buy enough the FIRST time. A little disappointed in Rustoleum but overall their paint is good.

This kit was easy to use and came with all the things needed. I used the product to paint a very dated small bathroom vanity from its original wood finish to white. The vanity is small and only had two sides exposed, since it is built into a corner. The kit contained two cans of base coat, and I only used about half of one can, even with painting the interior of the cabinet and doors. I used only a small fraction of the deglosser solution. The finished project was quite nice.

Followed the directions exactly. Did 2 coats of bond coat and it didn't cover the cabinet. Did 3 coats to get it covered and the paint turned yellow. When using the top coat, it turned it extremely yellow. Very disappointed!

After using the deglosser and painting two coats, the final result looks bad and not easy for people who doesn't a lot of experience painting cabinets.
