I was pleasantly surprised when I found that the extension is included in the box. Took only a few minutes to review the users manual, fill the chain oil tank with the included bottle of oil, attach the strap and snap together. It works perfectly with my Ryobi 40 volt RY40002 power head. In a few minutes I had a huge pile of limbs at the curb, all cut while standing on the ground. I am amzed at the power of this saw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light weight, handles very well up high. Used this saw approximately 1 hour now, and am quite happy with it. The oiler works flawlessy, and the tank last about as long as you want to be working with this unit (about an hour or two is enought for me at one time). The gearing does make a weird noise, but so far holds up well under stress. with the included extension, it handles very easily. I actually used two extensions, and it does get a little unwieldy at that point (way up in the air). You just have use all due caution whenever using any power tool. All in all, this is really handy tool, and keeps this old guy off the ladders! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some previous reviews had me wondering... Just received my Ryobi saw /pruner attachment, and had to immediately set it up and try it out. After oiling and checking tension of the chain, I took it for a test drive to knock down some low-hanging branches and some brush. After 20 minutes, I was very pleased with it's performance. The oil consumption thru the chain oiler was adequate without being excessive (some reviews complained about the oil being used up too fast) and looked like it could last an hour or so. I was happy with it's handling on the extension shafts, and the included shoulder strap was a nice extra. Over-all, Very Pleased! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interchangeable components I bought the gas power head and a sidewalk edger several months ago and it worked great. Then it dawned on me that the same power head would work with other attachments. Since I have a lot of trees In my yard, and my wife is a ferocious tree trimmer, I bought her the 10 inch pole saw attachment for her birthday. That didn’t go Over well! After that show of poor judgement on my part, I was relagated to chief cook and tree trimmer, but I really don’t mind...the pole saw is fun to use and it keeps me off ladders. The engineering in the outdoor tools is amazing. I would highly recommend Ryobi tools to anyone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bought this product about 6 months ago. This pole saw attachment is part of the Expand-it line. ... Bought this product about 6 months ago. This pole saw attachment is part of the Expand-it line. I've tried to use it 3 times and each time the attachment cutting head starts swiveling around to where you cannot possibly cut anything. No matter how tight you get the tightening knobs it still swivels out of the pins and rotates on the shaft to where it is unusable. Extremely frustrating. The 40 volt battery and handle are good, and I use it with other Expand-it attachments to include a tiller. Battery life is excellent and plenty powerful. I also have a corded Ryobi pole saw that works just fine. This particular attachment in the Ryobi Expand-it line TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design, easy to use I bought this to cut tree limbs after Hurricane Irma blew through Tampa. I tried regular pruning pole saw first, but it took forever and i was exhausted. At least a couple of other pruning saw attachments for my Troy-Bilt trimmer powerhead and saw they mostly had eight inch bars then I saw this attachment with a 10 inch bar and angled head for the same price and I was sold. Well worth the money! What took me 30 minutes to cut one 2 inch limb with a manual pole saw I was able to cut down several limbs ranging in size from 2 inches to almost 10 inches! I would recommend this to anybody looking to make their life easier. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts like a knife through butter I received my pruner attachment on Friday, put it on my Toro string trimmer and the first limb I cut was like slicing into butter. I had read the reviews and I was not disappointed. Best attachment I have purchased for my trimmer. Only thing I would recommend to Ryobi Ian to put a handle on the exrension shaft. For a quick job it takes too long to move the one on the string trimmer, and using that placement isn't very stable. You have to balance the weight by holding the extension shaft about 6" below the quick connect for proper control. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stretching my work limits So I took on a job for a lady friend to remove a 30"+ tree that had fallen in her yard. Unfortunately it wasn't a light task and a few of the branches were overhanging the power line to her house. Being I only had a chainsaw and a helper to hold the ladder I was out of reach of this one branch.......when I thought to myself "hang on I have a power head that I'm pretty sure takes a pole chainsaw". A quick trip to Home Depot and the job and probably my over stretched butt were save and completed with no injurys [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
