Not play sand
This is not suitable as a play sand. It is grit. Don't let the product photos fool you. It's exactly the same as "SAKRETE Multi-Purpose Sand" which is also not what the product photos show.

Not great sand for sandboxes
This is more like tiny rocks with lots of dust. Not like beach sand which is what the picture on the front looks like. I noticed after I bought it that the bag has warnings saying: not for prolonged or repeated exposure, wear protective gloves, do not breathe dust, etc. I am dumping this out and looking for another sandbox alternative. Thankfully it was only $5...

Best substrate Overall For Aquariums
I've been looking for the best substrate and have been through river rock, bottomless and now sand. And overall sand wins, River Rock isn't a good substrate if you have snails or have food that drops to the bottom. Sand on the other hand is friendly for turtles and fish, they dig into it, play with it, interact with it, it's basically perfect. You won't have to worry about squashing a snail either XD. I've read about going the pool filter sand route, but honestly, I don't know why you would choose that over this, but, time will tell, might end up being the filter that sees the negative effects in the very end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GmwSuGrGVc

Not Sand but more like tiny rocky pebbles
If you want this sand for a sand box steer clear as it is not at all sand but more like dg material. Not sure how they can get away with calling it sand. I bought this to put in the stand for my heavy kickboxing bag so thankfully I didn't but it for a sand box. Buyer beware on this product if you want actual sand you are better off buying from your local rock companies that sell actual sand (although probably more pricey) but at least you won't be wasting money on a crap product.

I couldn't really use the sand because it was wet (both bags). Also I expected sand colored sand ...
I couldn't really use the sand because it was wet (both bags). Also I expected sand colored sand but it was pink. I bought sand from somewhere else that looks like real sand. You can tell the difference in the photo.

Grandson's Birthday Sandbox A Total Hit!!!
I'd already purchased the sand when I read some of the reviews complaining of lots and lots of pebbles but each of the 10 bags I bought was (heavy but) just what I expected from a bag of sand.

Turned to rocks
After a few days and a little water, this sand turned into clumps of rocks. Very hard to break up and the Sandy part is very dusty. Now I just have a box of rocks and dust.

Inconsistent or was I just given the wrong product?
I previously bought 50 bags of the SAKRETE 50 lb. Play Sand but it still wasn't enough so I bought 9 more bags. However, this batch is totally different from the original ones I got which were finer and more white in color. This is more yellow and much coarser. Attached are some photos for comparison. I was not around when the new batch was poured so I only saw it after the fact. Otherwise, I would have returned it.

Product doesnt match packaging.
I ordered this sand because of how the sand looked on the package and in the pictures. I wanted the yellow/tan moldable looking sand that's advertised but what I got is no different then construction sand.
I should have ordered from Sandtastic.

JC5415, Play Sand is a natural colored sand that varies from region to region. It can also has variances when harvested from different areas in the region. The picture on the bag is a general depiction of sand.
