Answer This Question

A:  With the Pauling bathroom copper sink the faucet typically mounts directly to the counter top. This sink is also designed to work well as an undermount or top mount.

Q:I have three copper sinks in the new house which we have been in one month. A drop of hand soap got left on the sink and it has taken the color off the sink. How do I repair this and how do I prevent this from happening again? Is there a protecting agent that I should be using? I was given no instructions from the builder or plumber

    Answer This Question

A:  Clean copper sinks with only a drop of dish soap, warm water, and a soft cloth. Keep soap, cleaning chemicals, and tooth paste off of the sink. If the copper turns shiny be sure to clean the spot well with water and soap and rinse the area to get any remaining residue off of the sink. Wash the shiny area twice a day with warm water and use the sink as regular, the shiny area will darken up over time and use. If the shiny area isn't darkening, clean the area with a green scouring pad and warm water, then apply a bit of fresh hydrogen peroxide on the shiny spot. It will darken up in a few minutes as the hydrogen peroxide evaporates on the copper. After a few days of regular use the copper will blend together with the rest of the sink.

    Bathroom sink
The sink was very dark, it did not look like copper at all. It was very light as well. It was not what I had expected.

Dear Customer, I am sorry your Sinkology purchase did not go as planned and we thank you for your review. Sinkology Aged Copper finish does indeed tend to be on the darker side, much like a dark chocolate color. While Sinkology bath sinks are made of the highest quality pure solid copper, they are considered a thin metal sink. Once the sink is properly installed, it is extremely durable, and as with all Sinkology products, it is protected by our Lifetime Warranty.

Love this sink, just finished drop in install. no problems, I'm glad I read through enclosed instructions a second time, this sink isn't secured with fastening clips, just silicone. Sink has no weight so you have to weight it down until silicone sets. Also have to fill in under sink, between sink and counter edge with spray foam. Didn't see that first time I read instructions, but it will help keep sink from moving. This sink does not have an overflow feature so not too sure if I'd use it with small kids in the house. You do need to use a pop up plug/drain, I purchased the one suggested and was kicking myself because faucet I chose had one included, discovered a big difference in design and quality. The one that came with faucet was all plastic and the separate purchase was all metal! Very pleased with this, it looks so high design and I did it myself!

Not my idea of a copper sink.
Metal too dark and too thin for a sink. Would not recommend.
