Looks real nice in a kitchen remodel
This is a real nice looking microwave with the center display and keypad on the lower front of the door. It was part of a kitchen remodel, and really sets off the kitchen with a 'high tech' look and feel. BUT I keep having to set the clock when there is a power bump and that is very annoying. Seems like a small battery backup, even if it only lasted a minute or two, could avoid this annoying problem. The under mount LED light is not as bright as I would have liked. The installation template shows the location for the mounting holes, but doesn't show the measurements for placement of the screw holes for the wall bracket or for the cabinet above the microwave. I had to measure the location of the holes on the microwave and the template to figure it out. Holding the template upside down against the bottom of the cabinet above the microwave didn't work so well for me. I think they want you to tape it up and drill the holes where it is marked, but taping the template in place didn't work too well, it was off about 1/8 inch on each side, hard to center it, and the paper wrinkled. Also I wanted to drill the holes from inside the cabinet down, not up from the bottom, so they wouldn't tear the veneer on my cabinet when the drill broke through where I could see it inside the cabinet.

Great upgrade!
Our over-the-range microwave quit a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving. After researching what we wanted, we decided on this Samsung model. We LOVE the sleek, clean look it adds to our kitchen. We are getting used to the various features and so far, we are pleased with the performance. We DO like the controls at the bottom, LOVE the amount of light it provides to the cooktop below, and LOVE the dark, ceramic interior (doesn't look so messy all the time)

Still working after 2.5 years (hence the 2 stars) but not worth the headaches. I was fortunate to find someone to repair it during year one of warranty- but saved up money for a new replacement as soon as this fails again. I'm beginning to see alittle difficulty with closing the door as door may be sagging slightly, but do not see anywhere to adjust Disappointed that many repair places I've called no longer service microwaves- they're almost disposable at these low price points. Samsung seems popular but not on my list for reliability based on my experiences

    Keypad stopped working
    Keypad stopped working 14 months after purchase. I guess I'll have to by a new microwave and it will not be a Samsung!

      Great overall
      Center Rack is real flimsy could have been better...

        A rare Samsung product that is unreliable
        I have a house full of Samsung products and I have been more than happy on all of them. This is one exception. It seems that the keypad is not that reliable. I have called for repairs once and they replaced the keypad however after a few month the keypad is not working again. It is cheaper to have the thing replaced than to have it repaired again.

          Gave it away to anyone who would put up with it's faults
          This machine had issues from day 1. Its first fault shortly after buying it was when the cook time ended it would keep the interior light on & continue to spin the plate until I opened the door. Other times it would not start cooking although the timer would silently start to count down. Several service calls were performed & the door was replaced twice where the assumption that the key pad installed on the door or the connector cable was faulty. Another service call replaced another main board which solved all issues for a while until the warranty expired, Began acting up again where only the timer would count down but it no internal light or actual cooking going on. The issue was probably related to internal safety limit switches that contacted the door handle ensuring it was closed but mentally I was done with it. Loud hefty industrial door noise when opening or closing & it seemed to have the loudest fan I had ever heard. Best feature was the LED stove top light. My first ever dis-satisfied Samsung product.

            Stylish replacement that failed after 24 months
            I love the design of this microwave and the capacity, but failure to perform makes it a good-looking paperweight. This microwave replaced another Samsung failed microwave, and worked wonderfully, however, after about two and a half years, it started to lose its settings and repeatedly needed to be unplugged and/or be reset. A repairman removed the door and supposedly fixed the issue about 3-4 months ago, but now it is doing the same thing. Upon resetting the clock and trying to microwave something, it will count down, but doesn't light up when opening the door, nor will it function. This is too expensive to continue to fix, I'm sorry we went through two Samsung microwaves to conclude that despite the power, capacity, style, features and ease of use that made the Samsungs attractive, we will not spend this kind of money on lack of reliability again. This is the same issue that made the store replace our first Samsung microwave, and yes, we have had the wiring and breakers checked with extremely reliable electricians both times to rule out any electrical faults.

              Noisy at start up
              For all of you having difficulty with this microwave. If Home depot can not or will not help you with this problem, do this. Go to any Home depot and purchase a new unit. use the unit on the counter or install it and put the broken unit near a plug until the broken unit gets repaired. If you like the new unit better keep it and sell the repaired unit on Craigs list. Or even better. Return the recently purchased unit for your 30 day money back. This way you will not be without a microwave................. If enough people do this HD or Manufacturer will take notice...
