A: It's one deadbolt. Both sides are keyed, inside and outside. No lever on inside.

Q:need smaller strike plate with rounded corners. can I order one in Matte Black? neither one that came with the lock work

A: This is supposed to work. Strike Plates (Part 10-116): Supplied with a Round Strike only with Dimensions of 2-1/4" x 1-5/8". If this is too big, maybe you'll need to customize a hole using a blank filler strike plate.

Q:Rekeyed lock to same key as front door. But the key works only on inside door. Will not open deadbolt from outside.

A: This is a double cylinder lock so you have to rekey both sides. It sounds like they only did one side.

Great and relatively stylish deadbolt need keyed entry, such as an outside door. I recently replaced most of the interior doors in the house and went with a more stylish deadbolt to accent the aged-bronze hardware in the house and this fit the bill. Schlage is a brand I have come to trust as well. Most knobs, levels and all deadbolts in our house are Schlage. The deadbolt has a nice and smooth action. This deadbolt is locked with a key both from the inside and outside. Some consider this an issue if you need to leave the house in an emergency but considering there is glass close to the deadbolt, I want it keyed so a theif cannot break the glass and get in. My one complaint and reason for 4 stars is the screw covers for this deadbolt do not match the finish, they are more bronze and stand out (see pictures). The deadbolt is easy to install and all needed directions and parts are included. If you have existing holes in the door, it should take you 5-10 minutes with a phillips and flat head screw driver. No extra screws are included so don't loose them! If you need to make holes in the door, the instructions include a template. This set is made in Mexico.

I bought two of these for my new, smaller home. They are very substantial deadbolts, screwed solidly into the wall framing with two very long and large screws. I feel safe with these locks and they look great with the brushed nickel lever handles on the doors.

Replaced a thumb-turn Schlage and met the design stds for my HOA

Works fine. Only problem is that it did not fit the back plate of the Schlage it replaced, so I needed to have the back plate reamed out.
