AnswersThe blades are recessed from the outer edge of the wheel by about 3 1/4" so that's about as close as it will get to walkway, wall or foundation. You'll need a trimmer for the rest.

AnswersYou can buy a blade sharpening kit. American Lawn Mower Company SK-1 Sharpening Kit. It comes with paste and a crank handle. You apply the paste and run the mower backwards using the crank. The whole thing is supposed to take 10 minutes. You have to be sure to wipe off the blades thoroughly when you are done. You would not want to run the mower forward with any of the paste still on the blades.

AnswersCheck for mulch or Any small branches or Any other hard debris on The lawn that might get caught in the blades. Also when you just started using it it needs a good push. After couple of mowings you can do it one handed. It’s a great mower, unless you assemble it wrong. Check the manual. If all ok then just reel back or move the blades with your foot to get it going.

For the most part it cuts really well, except for maybe crabgrass and some other coarse weeds... you may need to go over those a couple of times, or better yet, just yank them out. From start to finish: reading the (clear) directions and (easy) assembly took approximately 25min. May I suggest wearing garden gloves when putting it together because you could possibly cut your fingers on the very sharp blades when putting on the "e" rings. Overall though, perfect for smaller yards and more fun than a typical mower for exercise.
This mower was easy to assemble and works very well cutting the lawn to an evened out level.

This product is perfect if your property is on semi-flat land and you don't have more than like a quarter acre of grass to cut. This was my first push reel mower I bought and I was pretty surprised with how well it cut my grass and how easy it was to set up. The only complaint I have about this reel mower is that when your pushing the mower it sometimes stops on a tough spot and so you'll have to back it up and then aggressively push forward. All in all, for the price and the hassle free maintenance other than sharpening the blades about once a month this is a great way to put the tarp over your gas mower or fire your lawn care specialist and save some money!

Great little mower if used as designed , med length grass and for areas that a gas mower is impractical, It trims the grass to a nice even length and there are adjustments for length of grass ,It is constructed well for its purpose .After almost a year now it meets my requirements for certain areas of my yard mainly out front along the side walk. I always say ( USE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB ) if you need a 7.25 hp gas mower with drive wheels then this mower is not for you;

Easy to put together, only need to put the handle on it. I used one of these as a child, and it was easy to use. I had a small area out back that is our dog area. I wanted to be able to just cut the grass without having to get the gas powered lawn mower or weed eater out. This is fast and easy, no noise to stir the dogs up. Smooth cut, smell of fresh cut grass, no gas or oil smell. Great for those who do not like gas powered machinery to protect the planet. I just like it for the ease of use. Definately met my needs, I have had it for about a month, and it is quick and easy. Easy on the pocket book, this is a 14" but they have larger, no cost for gas and oil. I do plan to get a sharpening kit.

Oh man. I just bought this today. I have saint augustine grass. It was probably 4 Inches tall. Super easy to put together. Super awesome at cutting the grass. I do have to make a few passes across heavier weeded areas. Tiny little twigs are a pain, but I just step back and kick the reel and it pops out.

On our first use of the mower the handle bent before we were half done. It was getting caught easily as well. In addition, it completely failed to cut some small weeds even on multiple passes. It was easy to put together....but not worth the effort.
