Q:Can this be used near or under gas space heating stoves ( temperature rated) ?
by|Dec 2, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out! For the best results, we recommend allowing Rust-Oleum Seal Krete Clear-Seal Concrete Protective Sealer fully dry before using the stoves again. You also want to ensure the surface does not reach temperatures above 200°F, as this can cause the coating to blister and peel. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Q:What is typical coverage per gallon
    by|Oct 7, 2022
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Happy to help, Joe. Rust-Oleum Seal-Krete Clear-Seal has practical coverage of 150-300 sq. ft. per gallon, depending on surface porosity. Clear-Seal can be applied over bare concrete or over 1-part water based paints, it cannot be applied over 2-part coatings or oil based paints. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

Q:Can this product be used to seal interior "stucco" chinking between polyurethaned cedar logs. I want a sealed finish on top of the stucco to make it easier to clean.

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for reaching out, Retta. Rust-Oleum Seal Krete Clear-Seal Concrete Protective Sealer will not properly adhere to stucco surfaces. Instead, Rust-Oleum Seal Krete Original Waterproofing Paint and Sealer may be a better fit for your needs. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Seal-Krete-1-gal-Original-Waterproofing-Sealer-100001/100144884 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Q:Is this product good for a stamped concrete driveway and is it slippery when wet?
        by|Sep 6, 2022
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Glad to help out, Chas. Rust-Oleum Seal-Krete Clear-Seal can be applied to stamped concrete. As with any concrete coating, the surface can be slippery when wet and any spills or water should be cleaned up when possible. If additional skid resistance is desired, you can use the Rust-Oleum Anti-Skid Additive. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-8-oz-Anti-Skid-Additive-301244/206495776 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

          Awesome Sealer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm planning to seal my concrete driveway but before I got in the big Job I tested the product with my concrete outdoor kitchen countertop. This product is extremely easy to use. It is very liquid and not sticky, the application is a lot faster than I was expecting and it also dries fast. I'm very impressed and satisfied with this product. The only detail is that I have some difficulties trying to get it applied evenly, but I think it was because I use a paint brush instead of a roller. Now I'm ready to do my driveway. 100% recommend!

Makes clear coating easy and turns out beautiful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Seal Krete Clear-Seal and noticed how it brings out the natural color of stone and concrete. Waterproofs and protects all in one product. Easy to use. Brush on your walls, stones, brick and concrete and see the difference. Goes on looking milky but dries clear No odor at all. Easy to clean up with soap and water. I'd recommend it for anyone wanting to have a lovely shine to their stone work.

                Beautiful shine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received 4 gallons of this clear seal, in 4 individual bucket, and they arrived well-packaged. The packaging prevented damage from rain, because they were double boxed. It also prevented damage from the cans hitting each other, because there were clever metal tabs keeping them from slamming together (see photo). I have have always thought our bare concrete garage floor is beautiful when it is wet, and shiny. This product is perfect to keep that same look forever. It should also help to make sweeping efficient, by smoothing the surface. This seal cannot be applied now, because temperatures must remain above 50°. I am really looking forward to applying in the spring.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so impressed with Seal Kretes Clear-Seal Premium Low Gloss Sealer. We used it on our pavers leading up to our house and they look amazing. Now they look like they can stand the test of time. Can't wait to fix our driveway then seal it with Seal Krete!

I used this product for unpainted concrete on my small front porch. The surface of my concrete has tiny grooves in it, so 1 gallon did not go nearly as far as I had hoped it would. This stuff has the consistency of skim milk and is extremely runny so after one coat, you can barely tell it was even applied. I'm going back to purchase a second gallon in hopes that 2 coats will be sufficient to protect my concrete. At $30 a can, that's my limit.

                      3 Coats and Water Penetrates
If you are looking to seal a outdoor patio or pool deck forget it. I applied 3 coats and when I get out of the pool the water penetrates the sealer in places turning dark from moisture. I am so sorry I used this sealer on such a large area. I am pretty sure if water gets through so will wine or BBQ dripings, my primary reason for using a sealer. This will end up costing a fortune to have stripped off. It dries out and looks good, but I know calcium and other water contaminants will eventually start settling under the sealer where the moisture penetrates. This product screwed up my 1000 sq. ft. pool deck and I am depressed to have to go through more work and money to use a professional grade sealer and strip off this one. Water penetrates places where patio furniture is dragged also. It is not a hard or durable surface. Buyer beware. You get what you pay for. Do your homework. I attached a photo of moisture penetration on sealed concrete where I stood after getting out of the pool.

                      Perfect Results
Purchased this product to re-seal the fading stamped concrete on my front and back porches. Application was quick and easy. Two coats yielded a nice, semi-gloss finish that was slightly uneven in some spots due to the textured surface. However, coverage is excellent so I had enough product left to apply a 3rd coat and, bingo, the results where superb!!! See photos and judge for yourself. Drying time is only 1 hr. between coats, so you can finish a project without losing the entire day.
