SharkBite PEX tubing is cross-linked polyethylene tubing for a wide range of residential and commercial plumbing applications. PEX Pipe is durable, flexible and corrosion resistant. Manufactured without an oxygen barrier for potable water systems (available in white, blue, and red). A repeating SharkBite imprint patterns provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite Push-to-Connect Fitting. This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite imprint patterns. In addition to Potable Water Supply SharkBite PEX meets UL Standard for Plastic Piping in Fire Systems.

Answer This Question

A:  Hi, The SharkBite 1/2 in. x 100 ft. Coil Red PEX Pipe can not be heated. If you have any more questions please call tech support at 877-700-4242. (Kind regards,)

by|Jul 20, 2021

A:  yes but be careful. I assume you want to bent it slightly. Use a hair dryer or heat gun on low power. DO NOT use a propane torch

    by|Jul 28, 2021

A:  That, I guess, would depend on how much heat is involved. The red is intended for use as hot water line and will certainly withstand the 212 degree temperature of boiling water. Past that?

A:  Nothing will happen to you if you use blue pipe for hot water, except everyone after you will assume that is a cold water pipe, and it will take them a while to figure out that you used blue pipe for hot water. One solution is to attach a little bit of red tape to the blue pipe, and then people after you will know that is for hot water.

A:  It will turn the hot water into cold water.

A:  It works except you have to identify it as running hot water

I bought the 3/4" Pex pipe for an added outdoor spigot. So far so good. I thought the 100ft roll was a great price and easy to carry

                            Easy
First time pex user here. Very easy. Set it out in the sun while I dug a 200 foot trench. Unwrapped the pipe and it unraveled into the trench. Cut ends and debured. Used the shark bite quick connectors. Wrapped in silicone tape. It doesn’t get any easier than this. No leaks.
