I am not sure how much weight they support but I used them to build a deck to hold my freestanding storage building. I haven't had a problem and there is alot of weight on the deck.
I just used dry wall screws in mine. I used these angles to give added support for my deck corners. I used 3inch screws to screw in the joints and then these to help keep a stable corner.
Yes, I use these for many furniture and shelving projects. Painting them will not violate any structural codes either where they are required.

There are many good videos on the internet for dishwasher installation. These brackets might help stabilize a dishwasher once installed although they make special dishwasher brackets for that purpose. I hope this helps!
It could be used but I would suggest that you make sure it will be hidden (if not think about buying smaller ones). If its that shallow you may want to attached the cornice to it via Velcro to insure the screws will not penetrate thru the shallow cornice.
