Do you need 4 plates to extend fever post 4x4s to make them 2' taller?

Asked by Matt June 28, 2019

Answer

We do not manufacture a product we can recommend to splice a post/column. Some people may attempt such a connection by sandwiching the joint with flat plates or wood pieces, but the design and performance of such a connection would have to be determined by the designer/engineer of record. Thank you!

Can I use these to make trusses?
