Release mechanism very easy to use
Two main things set these ratcheting storage straps apart. The ratchet mechanism is very east to release. We have used some straps where it is next to impossible to unlock the ratchet once you get it cinched up tight. They have nice Velcro tapes attached to the end of each strap. You can use these velcro tapes to keep the ends of each strap from flying around when in use. When you wrap them up you can use the velcro strap to keep each strap together in a nice compact package. One minor negative comment is that the storage case is a waste. You can easily package two straps in a quart size Ziplock. We commonly use ziplocks to hold things like this. Zipllocks are compact and easy to use. We recommend you recycle the EcoCase. See last pic.

Very Functional & Clever Storage
We are in the middle of a move so these got tested as tie-downs in a box truck and used with a 2-wheel dolly. The ratchet works well and releases easily. The 14 ft. length is long enough to reach from side to side in a box truck on a diagonal with strap to spare. The composite material of the handle seems durable and will eliminate corrosion as well as being easier on your hands when ratcheting. Using these along with the 6 ft. and 10 ft. retractable Smartstraps has made the move a little easier. I will keep one of each length in my SUV from now on and the others will stay in the original packaging, which is a reusable storage container. For this strap, there are compartments with hinged lids at the top and bottom of the container (see photos with lids open and one closed). Very functional product. Just wish this one could have been retractable as well but I guess that would make the ratchet device too bulky and require a very strong spring mechanism.
Smarter ratchet straps
I have lost so many ratchet straps and misplaced one and or the other end, the storage case really sold this product for me. Besides the case there are other amazing features to these straps. They have bigger handles with finger locks that are a lot easier to use. I love the safety loop which makes the strap less likely to slip. The shorter end of the strap is long enough to allow room for free movement of the ratchet. Smartstraps have some nice upgrades and I seriously recommend them.

Are the case and velcro wraps really advantages?
These are clearly heavier duty than the basic light duty tie-downs. These work well and the ratchets have a good, crisp action. With most cheaper ratchets I have had to lubricate them heavily to get them to release properly but these didn't need it. What makes these units different are the velcro straps used to keep the straps neat and the carrying case to store them in. After using them a few times I question whether either are actually improvements. They aren't for me though they may be advantages to you. I found the velcro strap sewn onto the end of the strap made threading the strap through the ratchet a more cumbersome action and that can be a problem at times. Yes the velcro strap creates and easy storage but I don't find that to be a problem for me as I wrap the entire strap around the ratchet unit but then the velcro piece isn't long enough to wrap the entire unit. The case sounds good but it is a close fit and requires the straps and ratchets to be wrapped and stored in a very specific manner or they won't fit. Plus the case dictates the shape of the storage space the case will fit in. For me, I ditched the case and store these under the seat of my truck where they are out of the way and the case wouldn't fit.

Great Straps
These straps work great! They have a very smooth operation and are easy to release, yet feel very robust and sturdy when you synch something down with them. I recently used the set of 4 to tie down 10 - 6x6x16' timbers with a truck bed extender. Even though the truck bed extender was likely overloaded, these straps helped to keep some of the weight in the bed and relieve the stress on the extender. Drove 30 miles with no issues!

Nice storage box
Ratchets are pretty straight forward and I've just had some very old ones until I got these. I am an occasional user who just needs to strap down something in my truck after a Home Depot run. The single best thing about these is the thought that went into storage when not in use. Instead of them loose behind the seat getting all tangled up, they have a nice storage box to keep them tidy. The hooks have a rubber coating on them and I don't know how that will hold up over time, I thing a chrome finish or powder coat may have been a better choice for heavy use but I can use these on the luggage rack on my van without worrying about damaging the rack. The "tail" strap has a hook and loop (velcro) strap which is nice to tie down the tails so they aren't flopping in the breeze and for storage

Very cool looking and easy to use
The reason for the four star review is because of the loops at the end. I have used ratchet strapped that hand a locking end and it helps to not allow the hooks to unhook as you start to tighten the strap. The ratchet is easy to loosen and it locks tight. The long straps are helpful when using on large items. Also the package comes with a user guide to help you figure out how to lock and unlock the ratchet straps

Nice ratchet strap set
I haul lots of different items either in my truck or on a trailer. I like these smart strap ratchet straps. They're 14 foot long and have a 3000 lb capacity. The carbon fiber ratchet handles are comfortable and seem sturdy. The hooks are rubber coated to minimize damage. The plastic case they come in can be used for stowage. A 4 pack should strap down about anything you want to secure. These are handy to keep on hand. The build quality seems good.

Heavy duty, well built, and easy to use
These straps seems very strong and should be able to hold most any item. I am using them to secure my Kayak but I have heard they can hold down 4 wheelers, bikes, etc. without a problem. The release button is large and easy to use and the release mechanism works smoothly which is not always the case with these types of straps. The 14 foot length gives plenty of room to strap items with height or a large girth.

Good set of tie downs
We use tie down straps quite a bit and some of our older straps needed to be retired. This set looked pretty good and I am glad we got them. I particularly like the sewn on velcro straps to help secure the surplus length of the ratchet straps. The ratchets are sturdy and work smoothly without slippage. The 14 ft strap length is a good size for most of my hauling needs and the bright orange color stands out.
