Is this diameter large enough to fit a single 12/2 wire inside?

Asked by Rich April 12, 2020

Answers

12/2 denotes two 12 gauge wires so not quite sure what you may have. Whether it would fit or not will depend on what the 12/2 wires are in. But if they are BX, yes, it would fit.

will the 1/2" size conduit accommodate two runs of 14/2 w/ ground jacketed romex?

Asked by PamM12 October 10, 2018

Answers

If by jacketed you mean Romex, generally Romex should not be put in another conduit for heat reasons. Note the manufacturer won't answer this question because it isn't normal use. FMC is meant for basic insulated wires (or bare ground.) If you don't supply a ground, then combined length is limited to 6 feet.

Can this be used outdoors under a carport?

Asked by Miggy June 8, 2016

Answer

This product cannot be used in a wet location. I would recommend Liquidtight Flexible Metal Conduit. This advice is based upon the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC). Free access to the latest version of the NEC is available online at www.nfpa.org/freeaccess. The NEC and local building codes regulate the types of wire and cable that can be used in specific electrical applications, as well as the manner of installation. Check your local building codes before you start any wiring and cable electrical project and be sure to obtain required permits. When your work is complete, always have it inspected for compliance with local codes to ensure that it has been safely installed.

No, this cannot be used.

Is it metallic or not?

This conduit is made from aluminum, so it is metallic. Aluminum is lighter in weight than steel, and easier to cut.

Our the detal right?

Asked by Chicken August 19, 2015

Answer

You are absolutely correct. This product is an aluminum metal conduit. We do carry a non-metallic, but this is not it. We have corrected on the webpage and it will probably take a day or two to update.
