Great for electric snowblower, no more stiff cords
We have an electric snowblower that is always a pain to use because the extension cord gets super stiff and is a hassle to wrangle. I later learned that certain extension cords are designed to remain flexible in cold temperatures so this winter I wanted to be prepared. This extension cord remains flexible down to -45 degrees so it will make my life a lot easier. The clear cord ends includes a light to indicate the power is on which is a nice feature. The quality is really nice and, of course, I'll get plenty of use out of this all year around, not just in the winter.

Three Heads with a Pilot Light,Stays Fllexible in the Cold
S.W. Atherton invented the extension cord in 1904. I'm sure someone else hooked up cheater wires before that serving the same purpose. Probably because he was an engineer he got the credit. We all know what an extension cord looks like. There are many different sizes, colors, and lengths. This one is a giant step up from average quality. Being 14 gauge rather than the almost default 16 gauge makes it a better choice for many jobs. For example, if you're using an angle grinder on a long extension cord and it's lighter than 14 gauge the motor will run hot and it will wear out more quickly. With this heavier cord you are putting less stress on your treasured corded tools. This cord is thick with a strong insulating jacket. It's a blue color advertised as high visibility. The female end has 3 sockets to plug devices into and a pilot light that indicates that the other end is plugged in and the cord is energized, a valuable diagnostic. On the package it is indicated that this extension cord will stay more flexible than the average extension cord in cold weather. My wife discouraged me from putting it in our freezer to test that feature. Seems like a very sturdy device that will be a great help around the home for many years with proper care and storage. It's manufactured by Southwire, a company I'm familiar with and associate with quality products.

Nice Extension Cord
With Halloween and Christmas on the horizon, it was time to add/replace some of my aged extension cords. Over the years I've learned that larger gauge extension cords last longer, and are more useful than 16gauge cords. So I no longer buy 16gauge cords, they just don't last like 14gauge cords. I've also come to like any cord that has glowing ends, so, from a distance you can tell it's connected to power. My house is "very smart" I have lots of smart plugs, programmed to turn on/off at various times/conditions. Without the glowing end I can't tell what's on/off. I also hate cords that get stiff in the winter. This Southwire cord ticks all the boxes. 14/3, cold weather with 3 outlets and a glowing end. It also has a nice distinctive blue color cord. I probably use 10+ extension cords for both Halloween and Christmas, having different color cords is nice to tell what goes where. This cord has a 3 outlet 'Y' tap that I find more useful than a 3 outlet flat end, as transformers can be separated. I like the clear ends on the plug and outlet so that I can more easily look for possible damage. Both ends of the cord have nice long safety necks to prevent the cord from bending right by the outlet/plug which will help them last longer. This is a first rate extension cord, don't hesitate if your in the market.

Easy to run out and wind up
Nice 50 footer that is super easy to handle due to it's vinyl sheathing that doesn't get hard in the cold. The cord is rated for 15 amps and my Makita compressor draws 13.4 and the compressor never skipped a beat. I like the light inside the clear outlet end, no running back to see if you remembered to plug it in. Three outlets allows you to have saws, chargers etc all plugged in at once. Nice cord.

very versitle extention cord for outdoor use
Finally, a cord with multiple outlets that can handle the amperage for power carpentry tools. The Southwire light duty extension cord is a 50-foot-long grounded cord made with 14-gauge wire that has three female outlets at the end. The rating is SJTW or junior hard service, outdoor rated, and has a jacket made from vinyl thermoplastic. The jacket's color is blue, and the vinyl jacket material makes it very flexible even in colder weather. The temperature rating for flexibility from OEM is listed as -45 deg F. The female end has a small diode light that lets you know that the cord is powered. It’s not really bright but it's bright enough if you’re looking for it. I’m constantly using multiple corded power tools and getting myself all set to make a cut, pull the trigger, and nothing. Unplug, re-plug with the correct tool reset all over again, what a pain. Now I can have several tools plugged in and never need to break my setup. The size of the cord is just fine as I’m only using one tool at a time and it's rated for 15 amps. The Male ends are robust, like that a lot as many times the outside outlets have a weather cover that you need to get the bayonets past, and the thin ones always bend. I’m also going to use this cord for the Christmas lawn ornaments and save myself from having to roll out two extension cords. I found no quality issues, the product worked just fine. Made in Vietnam, recommended.

Great cord in blue
Bought this Southwire 50 ft. 14/3 SJTW Cold Weather Outdoor Light-Duty Extension Cord, because of its blue color. The cord is heavy duty and the lighted plug is excellent, you alway know if power is on. The blue color stands out well on everything from the yard to plywood floors and concrete minimize trip hazards as it is very visible. The cord worked well with a table saw and circular saw working at the same time with no power droop.

Very well made 15 amp extension cord
I wanted this extension cord as part of the power outage plan. With the outdoor rating, the 15 amp capacity, and the lighted plugs, it is everything I was wanting. This can be plugged into a battery, a generator, an inverter, or any other device you wish. You then have 50 feet of distance to string the cord anywhere and you have three outlets to plug into. The plug will light up to show that you have power coming through. I am looking forward to putting this cord through its paces in the next power outage event.

Good extension cord.
Made in the USA and OSHA approved makes this a huge winner. 50 ft, heavy duty, water resistant and molded plug. Bright Blue for visibility! LIGHTED END shows power is on and cord is ready to use. The only issue is the conflicting description of this product on the website. It states both heavy and light duty. The extension cord is rated 15 Amps, 125 Volts, 1875 Watts and at 50 ft this accommodates many of my power tools and I will rate it more of a strong medium duty. Can handle hot and cold temperatures of -58F to 140F. Three outlet plug for extended use options makes this extremely useful.

Good quality
The Southwire extension cord is ideal for pros and diyers. It is light weight yet flexible. I like the fact that the end lights up softly to indicate that the cord has live power. Additionally the end will hold up to three cords. This comes in handy when you are working with several tools, thus eliminating having to stop and plug in your tools as compared to cords with one plug. Highly recommend this cord that is rated for up to 50 amps.

Great cord. Very flexible
It does exactly what it's made for. Having 3 outlets makes it much more useful. The female end with the 3 outlets has a LED that lights up when the male end is plugged in. The LED could be a lot brighter but it does the job. There is no LED in the male end that plugs into an outlet. It's got a soft & flexible cord which makes it much easier to coil and to lay out. I really like this cord and I'd recommend it to anyone that has a use for one
