Good tool for the price
Fit and feel for the tool is nice for the price. My use was to level to under laminate flooring at a seam, work well in combination with a disc sander.

Bought this about two hours ago to shave down the back of a window apron that was standing proud of the window sill on one end. As soon as I was finished, I was using a flat head screwdriver to scrape out the wood shavings that collected in the edges. When I was trying to scrape out the front, the blade suddenly popped off. Turns out the little metal flange that attaches the blade to the body (there's one on each end of the blade) just broke off the blade. They appear to have been welded on, so there's no way to reattach it. I'm giving it two stars rather than one because at least it let me finish the job I bought it for before it broke. And it did that job well and easily. Looking at some other reviews here, I'm not the only person it broke on during the first use. So for $16 you're essentially getting a one-time use tool.

      Weak Handle
The handle broke off completly after an hour of heavy use. I had to screw it back in place multiple times before that happened.

This rasp plane cuts evenly, and quickly. It's simple to use, and keeps it's sharpness even when working with dense hardwood board like Walnut, Hard Maple, Oak, and Mesquite. It also does a good job of cutting through resinous board such as pine and fir. I also like the fact that the replacement rasps are easy to change, and in stock at my local Home Depot.

        Did it's job.
I needed to trim down 2 doors and knew that even a coarse sandpaper on my power sander wouldn't make a dent. Not having owned a classic wood plane I considered buying one ($25), but opted for this rasp style, mostly because it had a longer planing surface...and was $10 cheaper. It took about 10 strokes down the surface of the door edge to understand how the tool actually cut the wood, but it did a really good job. Make sure you have a shop vac nearby as the wood shavings pile up pretty quickly.

Needed to enlarge a bathtub opening a little bit. This did the job just fine.
