The description was everything we needed. When we installed it at the top of our stairs we had to install it upside down (due to the design of our home and instruction recommendations to keep the lever on the opposite side - away from toddler).
We have a gate at the bottom so if we are downstairs we use that one and the top stays open until we are upstairs. The problem we encountered is that the gate is so heavy it pulled itself out of the wall.
We did try flipping it over to use the knob/doorstop and it was too short. We really wanted to love this, but it has not been as easy as described.
Also another reviewer mentioned the adhesive - they are correct it does nothing. Be prepared to use hardware to install.

This gate works great for what i need it
for, to keep my 8 month old from getting to the stairs, i will be buying a second one for our 2nd floor stairs. Only reason i gave it a 4 star was because i wasnt planning on drilling it in and only using the adhesive double sided tape but it wasnt strong enough and would fall. So i decided to drill it to our wall and it works great! Would recommend this product.
I liked the ease of installation on my tight outdoor wall. Pros: weatherproof, easy installation...

I liked the ease of installation on my tight outdoor wall.
Pros: weatherproof, easy installation, cheap.
Cons:locking lever could be easy to be broken for repeated use. I just installed it for a dog gate. So it will not be a problem.
For the price, it is affordable, low maintenance, looks OK. All in all, it is a good choice.
