Does rainwater collect along the edge of the roof? I don't see an overhang and would be concerned that after a rainy Spring (or even a couple of torrential rainstorms) the roof would be rotten.

I have now had the Victorian Teak chicken coop for one year and it is still in great shape. I purchased this brand because I was hoping it was sturdier than the others I had looked at, and it definitely is. This has been home to four chickens, two Buff O’s and two Barred Rock’s since April of last year (2018) and they fit comfortably in it, although only three large birds would be a better fit. Other than that I have only two recommendations that might make it better. One would be to have more rungs on the ladder & larger screws to make it more secure. My girls somehow, broke it from the coop. The second would be to raise the roost bars about 2” higher. I would definitely recommend this coop, or any of the other Summerhawk products for the backyard chicken owner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from better than expected I am a 60 year old advanced woodworker, and was thinking of building a coup myself, because no one could make one better than myself. My Wife was the one that wanted chickens and showed me a smaller coup that was for sale in the store. after doing some due diligence, and finding this one on their web site, I figured I would give it a try. We have no plans on having a flock of 10-20 hens, we are just looking to have about 4 hens for our personal use. this one should be perfect. Let me tell you, I am more than pleasantly surprised and satisfied with this product. Got it a couple days ago, finally had the time this evening to assemble it. What a breeze!!!!! The key to assembling of this type of product, is unpacking it, identifying all the parts, reading the instructions...duh!!! and then assembly. This aint rocket science folks. You do need a good drill/driver. You need to set it at a lower setting as not to strip out the screws, and you need a Phillips tip. That's it!! Take your time, and it will go together very easily. It is not a road race, so don't rush. I saw the video that it goes together in 30 minutes, and I read reviews where it took an hour to two. What difference does it make? This should be a fun project, whether it takes a hour or a week! Enjoy! I did! my wife is excite about it,and it took me about an hour to put together, and i was taking my time!! Looks great, great product, looking forward to out first eggs!!! Enjoy my friends. G-man

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All in all, a great coop for up to 4 chickens The Home Depot buying process was excellent, start to finish. No complaints there. The product itself is (repairs completed) just what we wanted. That's right, repairs were required the minute I opened the box. Nothing major, some wood glue and redrillng a few of the screws it came with, but this thing is definitely made in China and has a long road to get to the USA. Again, for the price, and repairs notwithstanding, this coop is exactly what we wanted. Plenty of room for 4 (minus one thanks to a hawk, now 3) large chickens. In the end, I would recommend this coop over others. It has been in the elements now for over a month and held up very well. It was also easy to put together (one person, 45 minutes).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the style My wife picked this coop for our baby chicks since it matches our patio. Very easy to put together if you follow the instructions and seems well made. If you have baby chicks, they won't be able to use the ladder at first, but overall great coop for a backyard

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute Coop Assembly took my 12 year old son and I much more than the estimated half hour but we went over instructions carefully and took care in our assembly. I am sure if we were assembling a lot of them, half hour each would be possible. Directions were fairly clear. Recommend using a power drill for predrilling a few holes that are not predrilled and for tightening screws easily. There were several pieces that were damaged in the box. Two pieces had significant gouges, third piece had a knot hole split, fourth piece screw had ripped out of edge but was able to be reset. The first four are really cosmetic and mostly hidden once assembled. Of more concern is a split in the wood on the main door but it is backed by another piece of wood and my son wanted the coop set up so will just have to keep an eye on that piece. It is small, we knew this. Adults will not be entering to clean the pen or run. It is a tight fit even for my son.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very cute coop This coop is darling.. For me a first timer, I thought it would be perfect for 4 chickens.. It's small.. And chickens will get really cramped if they are only going to be in this coop all day everyday.. They will need way more room to roam.. Not quite sure if even the expander is enough extra room.. We may purchase another one with expansions since I do not live on a farm, even though I have a huge yard.. They will not have free range all day only certain hours a day. But over all it's workable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely cluck-tastic! Recently purchased this coop for my 4 chickens and they love their new home! It was easy to assemble with a screwdriver in about an hour and it arrived at my local store without any damage. Could not have asked for a better deal for the price. It has also withstood some pretty wicked weather that has torn through the area this spring. If the chickens could talk I am fairly certain they would say it is eggcellent!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute Cute coop, but small for the price. The instructions were hard for my husband to follow, even though he has built houses from the ground up. It took him two hours to assemble, including fixing some broken parts. Overall the coop is functional and really cute. The inside space is limited, so if you plan on having chickens in it all the time, then I'd say 2 hens is the max. If you let your chickens out to range during the day, then you could probably do 3-4 hens, but they'd be cramped in the nest area. The coops height is smaller than a children's play house. My hen has to duck under the nest box. Length is okay, but take into consideration your feed and water containers, and again space is limited. I definitely need to look into the extension kit.
