AnswersTake it back to your place of purchase and have them show you how to adjust it. It might have a manufacturing defect which would require replacement that they should make.

I'm mid 60's & wanted lightweight tiller for flowers. I only use every 1-2 years. I did'n't use last year. Tried this year & is sort-of worked. Seized up but I thought maybe the dirt was too hard. Tried another day & it was completely frozen. If I light banged it on the ground it would turn about 1 second, then stop again.

I have clay soil that often forms semi-hard to hard clumps which will jam the tiller if larger than 2 inches, so I wore out the clutch in one year. However, I knew that it was light duty going in so I don't blame the tool. Otherwise, it's a good tool if the soil is not hard. In the narrow spaces in my rock-lined beds, it's great, especially if you do a pass with the fork first (that was sometimes needed even with my Troybilt Pony). If I can't replace the clutch, I'll buy another.

I received this tiller as a gift. Within minutes the plastic gears connecting the motor to the blades has stripped out rendering the brand new toy worthless. This really is a cheap piece of crap. Don’t fall for the cheap pricetag.

Easy to use but I found you have to go over the dirt many times to get it loose. It is exactly the machine I need to edge the vegetable garden and raspberries.
