Product Details

The Superior Pump 12-Volt DC thermoplastic backup sump pump system adds peace of mind to any sump pump system. The system includes a 12-Volt DC pump, a high-quality battery box and a built-in electronics panel with indicator lights. The DC backup pump will pump up to 23 GPM or 1380 GPH, features a 1-1/4 in. NPT discharge, tethered float switch, 10 ft. power cord and a clog-resistant impeller. The battery box electronics feature an 87 dB alarm with mute, AC charger with 10 ft. power cord and low battery alarm. Additional accessories include a full-flow check valve, battery terminals, PVC fittings, and pump mounting hardware. Battery, primary pump and primary discharge pipe are sold separately. The 92900 is backed by a 1 year warranty.

    A:  Hi there, The transformer in the battery box is a low amp (2 A) trickle charger and as long as there is enough power going into it, it would be just fine. Thanks

          Easy to install if you have basic pvc plumbing knowledge. I actually secured the pump onto an existing pvc pipe that drains a walkout stairway, the tether switch is attached to the main pump discharge pvc pipe. It's a tight space, and I think the float switch would work better, but using a hose to test and fill the pit, the tether worked everytime. I am using a Mighty Max 100ah battery, which has terminal screws that are narrower than the terminal lead wire connectors. I needed to use narrower washers than what was provided. If you get a battery that has terminal posts, the included terminal adapters would fit the battery lead wires. Who knows when I will actually NEED it, but takes a weight off my shoulders when we might and do lose power.

          Does the job! Fits in my sump as a replacement for a pedestal pump that died. I would give it 5 stars, except that: 1) mounting the pump on the main discharge line isn't easy for the non-professional to make it plumb. But that's also a benefit because my sump isn't quite 18" in diameter. 2) I had to use a check valve with rubber sleeves and clamps on the discharge of my main pump. This isn't as stable as if it was all hard-piped. If your sump is 18" or larger, I recommend purchasing the pre-assembled main pump + backup package. Installation would be much easier.

          The pump was easy to install and works as expected. This unit came with a bad power cord. Calling customer service at Superior Pump resulted in a very quick response with a new power cord on the way. So even with the bad power cord I gave it 5 stars because stuff happens and Phil at Superior Pump took care of the problem. I would recommend them .
