I need to replace my wooden electrical service pole for my electrical panel box for my home. Will the 10ft. 12-gauge silver Electro-Galvanized Slotted Strut Channel work as a replacement?
Asked by: Robert
It might. The channel is only 1.5" wide and deep.

Can this strut be placed across my garage door from keeping it caving in?? Or would I need a different one?

Asked by: Ash
Yes. You will need to plan how to use it this way but should provide the structural integrity you are looking for.

Could this be used inside a utility trailer for tie down hook ups if it were secured with screws every 2-3 feet? We need it to strap down heavy furniture or appliances. We plan on mounting 5 - 10 ft strips to each side wall of the trailer so the furniture could be strapped firmly, will these strips be strong enough to handle the weight?
Asked by: Ladygohappy
Yes, I believe it is plenty strong for using tie-down hooks, just make sure the slotted strut channel is properly through-bolted to the utility trailer. I am using it on my boat trailer that I modified to carry my Hobie Pro Angler kayak and use tie downs through the Superstrut which is u-bolted to the trailer to secure my kayak and has worked well.

10 ft. 12-Gauge Silver Electro-Galvanized Slotted Strut Channel is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used it for a solar panel rack Am building a solar panel rack for 32 solar panels, each are 38" x 65" and are about 45 to 50 pounds each. It will take about 20 of these for a total cost of $353.00 before taxes. The solar racking would of cost $2500 to $3000 to buy. Am building the ground mount out of 2 7/8" pipe. Going make it were you can adjusts angle from 20 degrees to 50. Might post some pictures when done.

Multiple uses and easy to configure to your specific needs with the available accessories. Strong and extremely durable. Mounts vertically to a wall with anchors or horizontally to ceilings. Spring nuts make it easy to mount just about anything at any point along it's length. I've used it to create a TV wall for our business, great for electrical drops in the middle of a workspace, also great for making attached shelving or to build custom free standing shelving. I highly recommend this product. It's only limit is your imagination.

I've used this to mount a basketball backboard to the roof over the garage. Was able to get the backboard perfectly aligned and was able to adjust the height from the ground as the kids grew. Lasted for over 10 years before the kids stopped using it and finally took it down. Metal was still in good shape after all those years.

While Superstrut is usually used in HVAC and electrical applications I have found it to be very versatile combined with the available channel spring nuts and angle brackets. I needed a secure foundation to mount two 10 foot lengths of 3" PVC Sch 40 conduit to create a base to support my Hobie Pro Angler kayak on a trailer. I used U-bolts to secure the Superstrut to the frame of my trailer then SS bolts through the slotted sections of the Superstrut to secure the conduit. It has been rock solid for over two years and after many submersions in freshwater it shows no sign of rust. My next project was to build a bed bike rack for my 2017 Honda Ridgeline. Using the some of the M6 bolts in the bed I was able to secure the Superstrut to the bed wall and then add a fork mount to the Superstruct using the 1/4 inch channel spring nuts to secure the mount. Looks like my next project will be to use the Superstruct to install some solar panels on top of our RV...will post pics after I complete the project.

I bought 2 -10ft. pieces and while it is inexpensive compared to other brands that we buy,the roll form is not consistent. While it will certainly function, it is not of the US standards in the strut industry. That being said it was 12ga and maybe we got a couple of bad pieces.

Good product.. as usual the spring nuts are a little challenging to use with these struts. Picking up the struts was challenging also, a few Home Depots indicated that they had stock via the web and in house inventory system, but the actual counts were a lot less.
