The product is exactly like described. It seems high quality. I installed it alone, with very little help collecting fasteners from my young children. The door is the heaviest and hardest piece to handle. I would not single installation for most people. It took about 5 hours (with a short lunch in the middle). The one thing I will complain about is that there were NO instructions. It came with a short checklist that mainly concerned itself with anchoring. A big box of varying fasteners and all the panels. Most of the fasteners were for between the panels, but they had some odd captive fasteners for the roof. Good instructions would have told me what was packed in, and things like to install the door first. I waited til the end, and it needed to be installed within the other panels, so I had to deconstruct a little. Also, install the captive fasteners before putting the roof on, I worked around it, but it would have been annoying if one would not have installed. There really is no reason to not have a 1-2 sheet basic installation instruction. I figured it out, but it would have made me feel more comfortable during installation.

Hope to never use this shelter, but tornados do hit central Texas occasionally.
The shelter I received is a new model of the 4x4 Hovel. I was surprised by the difference, but appreciate the new features, especially the vent/egress hatch. Assembly was very simple and took a couple of hours with just a little help moving the panels into position. All of the required hardware was in the crate. Rapid delivery, and excellent delivery service to my home. They placed it in my garage, close to the installation point. A couple of installation questions to the factory were quickly handled and allowed for minimal delay in the installation. Hard to say what the "value"(cost) should be. $4000 seems high, but definately worth having when needed.

            4 x 4 ShelterCube hovel
I did alot of pricing on storm shelters I could install inside a storage room. This is by far the best deal out there. My son and I put it together in about 4 hours. There are no instructions but all you have to do is look at the panels and it's very easy to see what goes where. I did read the reviews before I ordered it and made sure I installed the door before I put the top on. The door is like a bank vault and very heavy so make sure you have help. I had to wait an extra week for delivery to the store but it was well worth the wait. I live in Alabama and they passed a tax deduction up to $3000.00 Will see what I get next year at tax time. I hope I never need it but being I have been through 2 tornadoes in my live it's a sense of security knowing you have a safe place to go.
