cutting is wrong
cutting is wrong, this suppose to be 12 in but the cut is 11.5in

11.25 in. is the actual size as stated in the bullet points and specifications. 1x12 is the nominal size just like a 2x4 after milling the actual size is a 0.75 in. x 11.25 in. x 8 ft. Beautiful wood for a 1 star though we appreciate the photos!

Great for building furniture
After buying two S-shaped bookcases i tried to find a similar style tv stand but no luck. I wanted a particular design so i decided to build it myself and i wanted to do it or of high quality hardwood. Most of our condo is kind of dark so i decided to use walnut. The walnut boards sold by Swaner hardwood through home depot were very convenient as they got shipped to my front door. I got 2 1x12x6ft and 2 2x6x8ft boards. The wood is pretty good, almost no sapwood in the boards i got and they are almost completely flat. There are a few planer marks on the 1in board (no such issue on the 2in) which you WANT to sand out otherwise they'll show up during staining (i tested this on a small test board). Some boards have one or two knots but only on one side of the board. I personally like the knots so i don't mind. I stained the boards with old masters walnut gel stain and lacquered it with deft lacquer. I then screwed the tv stand together with square drive screws which gave it excellent grip. I still needed one last board for the bottom of the tv stand. Swaner hardwood were kind enough to send me a single board plus some extra hardwood because there was an initial minor misunderstanding, so very cool on their part. Overall excellent customer service and i look forward finishing the tv stand. Would buy again for my next project which will probably involve cherry.

Quality walnut boards in a hard to find size
About a year ago, we previously purchased the Swaner 1x12x8ft S4S walnut boards for use as shelves, and they worked out great. We needed a little more, but the item was now out of stock. The folks at Swaner provided awesome customer support and directed me to this product. In general, I am happy to find that these hard to find sizes are available for home delivery and at a good price.
