it works, liquid ant bait

TERRO - It Works!

Generations of consumers have come to know that the bright orange package stands for “Ant Control.”No matter what type of home pest control challenge you face, TERRO has the solution!

kill the ants you see and the ones you don't, liquid ant bait

Kills the Ants You See & Don't See

Foraging ants take the bait back to the nest. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread, killing the ants you see as well as the ones you don't see.

total population control, liquid ant bait

Total Population Control

Ant baits are designed to slowly spread throughout the entire colony to offer total control in just a few weeks.

attract ants, liquid ant baits

Attracts Ants

Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants, before they disappear. But it's a good thing! The enticing sugary liquid can then spread through the entire colony.

how liquid ant bait works

How It Works

The active ingredient slowly interferes with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony.

where to place liquid ant bait

Where to Place

Place near trails, along baseboards, in corners, on counters, under and behind appliances, on windowsills, and other locations where ants are numerous.

Use more liquid bait placements

The More Placements, the Better

Place additional bait stations anywhere they may enter your home. For best results, use multiple placements to ensure a sufficient supply for the ants.

remove attractants, liquid ant bait

Remove Other Attractants

Before placing the bait stations, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting ants elsewhere.

monitor liquid ant bait placements

Monitor Placements Regularly

Monitor placements regularly, but do not interfere with the pests or bait.

replace bait placements as needed

Replace Bait As Needed

Replace bait placements when the liquid is depleted or becomes dry.

prevent ants from returning, liquid ant bait

Prevent Ants from Returning

Once the colony is under control, keep placing baits to prevent new colonies from forming.

liquid ant bait attracts and kills all common household ants

Works on Common Household Ants

Liquid ant bait attracts and kills all common, sweet-eating household ants.

control ants indoors and outdoors, liquid ant baits

Control Ants Everywhere

Liquid ant baits can help you target infestations wherever they exist, whether indoors or out.

Terro Ant Killer, Terro original ant killer, attracts and kills all common household ants. The liquid ant killer is specifically designed using the active ingredient Borax- to kill the worker ant in two to three days, giving the foraging ants enough time to share the bait with the rest of the unsuspecting colony. To use, simply apply the product directly from the bottle onto the provided cardboard squares and place near indoor areas where ants are spotted.

A:  I have. Since the product is put on a small piece of cardboard it does not cause a mess and is easy to dispose of. I put it in an area where it would not get bumped or interfered with, by the trail the ants used.

          Answer This Question

A:  While this product will be effective if the ants ingest it, it is not recommended for carpenter ants as they are typically searching for protein rather than sugar.

            1 found this answer helpful

A:  If carpenter ants consume the liquid it will kill them, however they are not attracted to it. They typically look for a different food source so this is not recommended for carpenter ants.

A:  Yes it good, but drops as bait stations is best

                    by|Nov 19, 2019

A:  It probably can, but I use the little cardboard patches that come with the package and are easily disposed of. I believe the active ingredient is borax, which may be nontoxic to pets in small amounts, though I am not certain. The liquid is syrupy and sticky. I do not know whether bees or other insects would be attracted to it.

A:  I wouldn't suggest applying it directly to any surface other than some kind of disposable waxy paper. It is a liquid product that rather quickly becomes a sticky gel if not eaten by the ants. It will make a mess out of concrete and may damage wood (particularly if stained).

                          by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes it can be. The product will kind of "bubble" and stay in one location if not disturbed. The ants will be attracted to it. Remember it is a poison, as far as where you place it.

A:  I believe ghost ants and crazy ants are the same. I eradicated a colony of crazy ants in my bathroom -- but be patient. Resist the urge to crush them as they gather around the drops and feed, so they came that it home and poison the nest. Keep the poison wet and let it stay in place for about a week.

                                    Amazing stuff
The bathroom in the basement was having 1 to 5 ants every morning. I tried essential peppermint oil (failed miserably). I then did a small upgrade to the bathroom and in doing so caulked the baseboards. This helped for about a week and then started seeing them again. I finally saw and ant to use the bait. I use a paper towel as I didn’t have cardboard and placed it against the door and baseboard. Within minutes they started to swarm the bait. I kept adding more bait and more came. Some of the ants seemed to die rather quickly the others are going back and forth. So far I am delighted with the product. I will update to see if it actually rosa them in 48 hours after they take it back to the colony.

I used this stuff a week ago. WOW. Great stuff for those ants nicknamed sugar ants. Within 10min they were surrounding the liquid ant killer. After 2 days, I was only seeing a few ants wondering around. Now its been a week, and I have only seen a couple ants here and there. Compared to a week ago I had a continuous trail of these little ants. So I think 99% of them are now dead. I would recommend this to anyone who has those tiny ants that love sweets.

I've been having ant attacks inside my condo all summer long. It just turned to fall the ants are still here. Bought her Terro Liquid Ant Killer and set up four locations I've seen ants. It took 2 hours and the ants are feasting out on one the traps. I added a couple more drops because there are so many ants. I'll have to wait and see what happens but hopefully it will kill off the nest. This is in my downstairs bathroom. I put traps in my upstairs bathroom, another near kitchen sink and inside my kitchen cabinet.

This is one of two ant bait killers I have found effective. After our usual mid-spring ant invasion started, I placed several drops on the patio and around the door where the ants were searching and within minutes they were swarming this stuff. They at so much I had to replenish it a few hours later. After a few days they stop coming. This contains borax and sugar, the ants love it. It comes with little discs you can place the bait on for indoor use.

It works very well. It is easy with the liquid format since you can pour some drops in vertical surface where ants are going in and out. It is easy also to clean with water. I do not use the paper and put some drops on it because most of my issue is in vertical position like cabinet, wall etc. We had so many ants in the house from different locations in the house. It really kills the colony but you have to be patient to feed ants when they come out. As soon as you see them just provide some drops and they will call their peers to eat it. For our case it took about 2 months before we stopped seeing any single ant in the house. And we did not empty the 2 oz to kill these thousand ants.

It works if you let it.
I have used this product numerous times (probably just about every spring and summer when the ants come out). It works if you have the patience to let it work. It will take a few weeks to get them all but they will stop coming if you have enough bait stations and keep them refilled. This particular purchase of this product was a bit of a surprise as the bottle had obviously opened in the box. For the small amount that was missing, it wasn’t worth driving back to the store for but it is the reason for four stars instead of five. I washed the bottle off I laid out the bait. Now we wait…

                                            Finally, something that works!
I tried just about everything I read on the web about getting rid of ants, and they pretty much ignored all of the traps, etc., which I'd put out for them. THEN, I came across an article about Terro (should be TERROR), and darned if it didn't go to work right away. Very easy to use, and very effective.
