About This Product

Epoxy Elite EVO Acid-resistant 2-part epoxy mortar for the installation and grouting of ceramic tiles and mosaics with 1 to 15 mm joints, on indoor and outdoor floors and walls. Product with ultra-low emission of volatile organic substances (VOC). Innovative new approach to Epoxy Mortar that enables a smoother matt finish. Commercial product that can be used as a non-sag setting material and grout product. Extremely easy to install and maintain. 2-part anti-acid epoxy mortar. Part A consists of a mixture of epoxy resin, fine-grain siliceous aggregates, pigments and specific organic additives. Component B consists of an innovative organic catalyst. The 2 parts, once mixed together, form a creamy mixture with excellent smoothness, also for no-drip vertical application. Once hardened, the product has ultra-high performance in terms of mechanical and chemical resistance. When applying grout to tile we recommend using The Tile Doctor Green Epoxy Float. This float is specially designed to spread grout into joints when grouting tile with epoxy-based grout.

Highlights

  • All-in-one grout and adhesive, excellent results in the adhesion strength test, much higher than the standard limit of greater than 2 Nsq.mm, as an adhesive, it is recommended when installing thin mosaics
  • Smooth and compact joints, the colors have a soft and intense appearance which blends perfectly with the surface of the times, making the joints, in matching colors, virtually invisible
  • Fluid application, the fineness of the quartz grains allows a much more fluid application of the mix, making it easier to fill the joints in less time and with less work by the installer
  • Easy cleaning, joints made with EpoxyÉlite EVO stay looking good for longer because they are easy to clean, with excellent water repellency and do not absorb any kind of stain, even the toughest industrial stains
  • Ideal for industrial use, excellent compressive strength, much higher than the standard limit of greater than 45 Nsq.mm and flexural strength much higher than the standard limit of greater than 2 Nsq.mm
  • Recommended: Use Tile Doctor Green Epoxy Float for best results when grouting tile with epoxy - based grout.
  • White scrub pads included sized at 4 1/2 x 5

Q:How many square feet does a pale cover when using as an adhesive / thin set , with a 3/16” V notch trowel ?
by|May 25, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  To estimate how much EpoxyÉlite EVO Epoxy Grout you would need for your project, please make use of our handy online Starlike Grout Calculator (http://tiledoctor.com/resources/grout-calculator/). We also have a YouTube video detailing how to use our online Starlike Grout Calculator (https://youtu.be/Mdrppigi49A). For example, assuming a 100-square-foot backsplash project, 1" x 1" mosaic tile, 1/8" thick, using a 1/8" grout line, the calculator yields an answer of 25.16 pounds of epoxy grout. This is how much Starlike EVO Epoxy Grout you would need when used as just a grout for that particular size of tile for that size project. The calculations are the same for both Starlike EVO Epoxy Grout and for EpoxyÉlite EVO Epoxy Grout. Just below these results, the Starlike Grout Calculator also provides calculations for Litoelastic EVO Epoxy Adhesive needed to set the tile for that size project based on size of notched trowel. These calculations for Litoelastic EVO are also valid for Starlike EVO Epoxy Grout and EpoxyÉlite EVO Epoxy Grout when these materials are also used as thinset and should be added to the preceding calculations for grout if you are using the material for both purposes. In this case, a 100 square foot project, the estimated thinset amount given is 82.07 lbs for a 3/8" square-notched trowel. A 3/16" v-notched trowel will consume an amount somewhere about half that, around 41 lbs for a 100 square-foot project. So a 5-kg (11-lbs) pail of EpoxyÉlite EVO could cover around 25-30 square feet of project for setting tile using a 3/16" v-notch trowel (about 0.36 lb/sf).

Q:Can this be applied through a grout bag?
    by|May 20, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Yes, especially for large format tile. Grout application can then be concentrated around just the seams, and thus both product and effort need not be wasted on cleanup of the majority of the rest of the tile face where grout is not wanted nor needed.

Q:Can this be used on a patio of concrete pavers?
      by|Apr 30, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Concrete pavers typically use polymeric sand to hold them in place especially if they are laid over a gravel and sand base. This is usually done to aid in water drainage. Using epoxy grout in this instance defeats that purpose and also exposes the epoxy to cracking and delamination because of the unstable sand substrate. The only way that epoxy would make sense is if the pavers were permanently set with mortar over a firm substrate like concrete.

Worked great and was very smooth. My worker said just follow instructions and only mix a little at a time. It took about 1 hr to harden but it was 60 degrees outside. I will assume that it was windy and warmer. I used this epoxy grout on my fiberglass pool. No issues and it’s stuck on there great

          Epoxy new shower floor
I used the EVO 140 Nero Grafite product on my shower floor with the flat river rock .The Floor size was 38x58 and i only used one 5k bucket for the shower floor and the niche. This stuff is a little thicker than regular grout and a littler harder to use but worth it .You have enough time , but You will need to work fast and have plenty of water and sponges close by to get the job done. What sold me was never needs sealing . No Regrets Go for it . Bought tru HomeDepot website. Shipping was fast . I bought 2 of the 5k buckets and didn't use but 1 and they gladly took the other one back .

I divide the Part A wet colored mix into 4 gallon freezer bags, and the Part B liquid into 4 used tightly sealed medicine bottles. I use a postal scale for the Part A mix to ensure equal parts, and same height in the medicine bottles. I add 1 bottle of Part B in 1 bag of Part A and seal it well, then knead it to mix the two together well. This gives me about 20-40 minutes to grout a section of my shower. It take a lot of time to push this epoxy grout into the cracks between tiles. Try not to spill, but be sure to have carboard and painters tape below where you don’t want grout to stick forever! 1 full container (4 bags) made enough for my large format (12 x 24 in) tile with 1/8 in spacing around a bathtub up to the celing. Each bag took me several hours from mixing to cleanup. I really like this epoxy grout because it does not require sealing and almost nothing sticks to it like soapscum. I expect it to last 20 to 40 years. It is 5 times harder to work with than regular grout. I have many other tips but out of space.

This is the real deal. Some pro's: awesome waterproof epoxy grout. Easy to mix and decent working time. Cons: This is not for beginners. If you are a beginner, read the directions several times. This is professional grade stuff so you must protect and cover whatever you don't want this stuff on. It's not coming off without a fight (a 15 round heavy weight fight). I dont recommend this for 1/8th grout lines because it is difficult to spread into a small grout line and that adds to working time (ask me how i know) but If you do, it is freaking beautiful. This only comes in 5.5lb and 11lb buckets. Once you mix it. You have to use. There is no putting the lid on. Now, i needed a little more than 5.5lb bucket because of working time. But i could only get the 11lb bucket. I separated parts A and B into containers with known weights and then measured the parts into 1/4ths. This allowed me to use what i needed and not waste the rest of the bucket. I love this stuff

Good product. Used for pool tile. Working/set time was barely what was listed on the directions. Make sure you lay out the tile before mixing as you will not have time for anything but applying the tile.

              Hot garbage
Cured in 30 minutes at 70°. Insanely runny at first and gets hot and unusable quickly. Far less in the bucket than you would expect and doesn’t go very far especially when it’s curing before you can finish.

High quality product. Very hard to work with. Sets up very quick. Lot's of wasted material. Should be worth the expense since it will be waterproof, mold and mildew proof.

Installation, done by a contractor, consisted of 2 tile shower surrounds and kitchen backsplash. The instructions are good, but there is a learning curve, so it got easier as the project unfolded. Any spills on surrounding surfaces need to be cleaned up fast; next day is too late. The white cleaning pads and haze remover sold by Tile Doctor were valuable. Looks great and very hard.

BE CAREFUL WHEN USING!The person who helped me use this had a severe reaction to this product. Two weeks and 5 doctor appointments later he is still having issues. Product looks great and was easy to work with. Home Depot shipped one of the five buckets the wrong color. Pearl white instead of white. Glad I noticed before mixing and using!
