        A:  This fixture is rated for a 100 watt light bulb maximum. I have two of these lights over a kitchen island and we opted to put 9 watt LED warm white light bulbs in them. It gives off plenty of nice light without the heat from an regular incandescent style light bulb. I have also shortened the cord and removed approximately 2 feet because our ceiling is only an 8 foot tall ceiling. The fixture in it's original configuration was about 18 inches above the surface of our island at it's highest setting. Now we have a good foot or more that we can raise and pull down the light. Makes dusting it a breeze.

          A:  I honestly do not know but I put a 100 watt or a 75 watt in. I do not remember and I am away working from home for a few months. I can tell you that the quality and style of the light is wonderful!! Very happy purchase

                A:  Yes. I removed approximately 24 inches of the hanging cord (which gained me over a foot of travel and placed the light in a better orientation). In the piece that connects at the ceiling, I was able to undo the "knot" that was present, cut the cord to my desired length, and redo the knot. Initially, the light was hanging approximately only 15 inches above the kitchen island where we installed two of these. The light was obstructing the view to see anyone opposite the other side and it could not be raised since it was all the way up. Now the light is out of direct view and can be pulled down as designed.

                    Easy to clean and change bulbs
                    I bought these because my bungalow has a very high ceiling and trying to change bulbs and dust was not possible without a step ladder. I found these online and was hoping to find one in a Home depot store to take a closer look, but, they were only available online. I took a chance and ordered them. Once I hung them up and put in a daylight LED bulb I pulled them back up with the built in counterbalance and I am very pleased. They are well made and the mechanism seems foolproof They are now much more modern looking and dusting them is much easier
