Feels like it could dig through hardened clay soil!
I needed some help with the front yard gardens because the soil had become compacted and difficult to turn by hand, so I thought that with sufficient power, my job would be easier. This Toro tiller has been a great tool for the gardens.
It was extremely easy to assemble, and after adding the included oil and then my gasoline, started with just 2 pulls.
The tiller blades can be disassembled quickly to narrow the cut if needed.

A solid small tiller built buy a good name company
I received the Toro21 inch tiller a few days ago. The box was pretty damaged during shipment by UPS but the product was undamaged, thank goodness. This is my third tiller. I have a huge one and a small cultivator. I am pleased with my Toro snow blower and my Toro self-propelled lawn mower. Assembly was fairly simple, and a bottle of 4cycle oil was include. The engine is 99cc, adequate for the average homeowner, unless you have heavy clay soil. The only thing that I would improve would be adding a throttle cable control up on the handle, rather than down on the engine. 4 cycle means no mixing gas and oil... runs on straight gas. I use rec fuel in all my small engines. I highly recommend it, as ethanol is not good for small engines.

Sweet Little Machine
Looking to plant a garden in the spring and do some other yard work around our new house. This Tiller is just the right thing for around the house and yard. Weighing about 97 pounds, it is easy to handle. Runs on straight gasoline as it has a 4-cycle engine. The machine is easy to assemble following the included instructions and using some basic hand tools. Metric wrenches are required. One note, the bracket for the tine control cable goes on the underside of the handle (instructions aren't really clear about where it goes and when to install it.) After assembly, install the included engine oil and add gasoline and you are ready to go. Starts very easily yet provides the power required to get the job done. After a little practice you'll be ready to go.

Makes gardens happy
The Toro 21 in. Max Tilling Width 99 cc 2-in-1 Tiller Cultivator with 4-Cycle Engine makes garden prep simple. The Toro Compact Front Tine is 2 garden tools in 1 and is easily converted from a front tine tiller to cultivator in just seconds.
Set up of the unit is easy and takes less than an hour to assemble. The assembly feels solid and very durable.
Changing configuration of the tines is also easy, with the extension tines having an offset placement on the shaft, you can set a range of overall widths from 11 inches (no extensions) Ann the way to 21 inches with the extension tines installed and facing out.
The tool has no difficulty powering through most terrain, and will make short work of prepping a garden bed, loosening or mixing soil, Compost, etc.
Operation is simple, with a large hand grip for engaging the tines. All the adjustments for the anchor, the throttle, setting the length of the handles, etc. are well thought out.

Absolutely worthless
This thing only works if your soil didn't need tilled in the first place. If you're on any ground that is even remotely solid it's going to scrape down a few mm of topsoil and quit. When you try to start it the following season (to try and justify its existence as a cultivator) it's not going to start. Even if it was stored with non ethanol fuel, you changed the plugs, cleaned the filter and kept it in your garage. You'll just pull on that stupid rip cord like an idiot until you're gassed. Awful
