                Answer This Question

A:  It will depend on the actual size of your tires. These are made to fit tire size 4.80 x 8 which is a 16" tire. If your tire is not this size the spacing of the chains will not be right and will cause the snowblower to not roll smoothly. The chains are designed to fit in between the lugs on the tire. Good luck!

These chains have made a world of difference on my Toro Power Max 826 OXE HD (4.80 x 8 16" tires) My recommendation would be to let air out prior to installing the chains. Get chains as tight as possible. I also added 2 small bungee cords and made a cross to help take out any remaining slack. Once done I refilled the tires with air and that made the chains nice and tight. Make sure you check your tire size as these do not fit all power max snowblowers as the ad states. My tires used to slip all the time even in a light snow. Since adding theses chains now I can chew through anything without slipping. I definitely reccomend.

Good Home Depot order/ship, but item returned to store. Need blacksmith on call, extra 2 / 3 sets of hands to install. Fit chain on 1 tire but would have been near impossible to properly "crimp" extremely heavy closure links, not to mention noted chains would in any case have been VERY LOOSE / likely easily come off. Decided not worth hassle / deep lugs on tires (Toro 1028) would suffice.

We apologize for your experience. Base on your descriptions, the reason why the chain was loose on the tire is that it might've not been the right size for the machine. We would be happy to assist you in locating the right part, feel free to call us at 1-888-384-9939. We are here to help! Toro

Finally installed the chains on my new Toro 928 HD PowerMax blower…took some time to get them on…I realized after 20 minutes that it would be better to let the air out of the tires first and then install the chains….this way I was able to get them tighter and ever tighter when the air was back in ..

These fit my new Toro 1028 easily & perfectly & did the job with the recent northeaster. I had purchased chains from an online seller for 1/2 the cost of these, when they arrived I found the links to be quite small, did not project above the tire nubs--so useless. In addition the chain was advertised as 16 x 4.80 but was never going to fit even with deflating my tires. Returned those for credit--these are keepers.

                    after market tire chains 16'
the tire chains were kind of difficult to out on. Your better off deflating the tire some, installing them, then re-inflate the tire. Easier to install with 2 people. Once they are on they tighten up really well and no problem staying on. Instruction's vague at best. Wound up with 2 "clip's" I have no idea where they go. Really help's going through the grass though.
