If you buy the blanket, do this.
This is my third winter with the insulated blanket. To answer most of your questions in the reviews that are only one or three star, yes the middle clip melts off that happened to me the first year but I just use it without one. Also did research before my purchase and found many complaints about the bending of the lid from the weight, so I came up with a solution of a small aluminum piece of metal and three self-tapping screws screwed in behind the lid so when you open the lid, the weight of the blanket is not hanging on the lid. Smoked a 15 lb brisket for 16 hours in below zero temperatures, I did not have to refill the pellet hopper

Do not buy!
I purchased one clips burnt off.
Second I purchased it was on the grill in 35 f weather. Burnt all the paint off my grill and caught fire. Traeger tried to say my grill reached 1000 degrees. The temp on the grill said 500 while the blanket was on fire. Never hook your grill up wifi. That's how they gather data. I'm am honest customer will never buy a Traegar agian. I junked it and purchased a pitboss. P.S just a year before I called to complain that paint was coming off of it.

Thank you for your review. The insulation blankets are a wonderful way to keep smoking year round. The foil backed heat-resistant fabric reflects the heat back to the grill and should not be used in temperatures over32 degrees or when cooking on higher temps like 350 and above. Using the grill when it is set (says) 500 will damage the paint, the blanket itself, and can cause fires. Love this smoker, first 3 cooks with the insulation blanket in the dead of winter had no issues with heat loss and the meat turned out great.
