Product Details

Each tile is made with 75% recycled rubber, including Nike Grind rubber. The tiles are designed to provide the requisite resilience and cushioning for a safer and comfortable exercise session. As a natural sound dampener, the rubber tiles will cut back on the noise and vibration. The tiles feature randomly distributed colors, reflecting excess material collected during Nike footwear manufacturing. Designed with an interlocking edge pattern you have unlimited options in terms of the shape and size of your fitness surface. Each unit comes with 6 tiles and enough edges and corners to cover a total surface area of 14.32 sq. ft. You can join multiple packs together to cover any shape or size exercise room. The modular construction allows you to cover around corners without any cutting and trimming, while the straight edges give the tiles a finished look.

Great for small areas, color mismatch significant
The quality of these tiles is fantastic, but the box disclaimer of ‘Due to recycled content, colors may vary from box to box’ doesn’t do the variation justice. I purchased 4 boxes of these for a small room. The first set went together very easy. When I opened the rest of the boxes, the color variation is so significant that I will be returning these in favor of something else.

        very nice product
I bought this for basement gym floor. always wanted one and finally pulled the trigger. over all I'm very happy with results. I read on here about color mismatch. I had 1 straight piece in 12 boxes that I decided not to use. the color is what gives this floor its character. I like it, actually thinking of doing my entire basement floor with this product

This works pretty well. I'm using it to seat a rowing machine in a multifamily building. It's true that coloring can vary between pieces as noted by the manufacturer. Pieces mostly fit together well; there are a couple interlocking points that have small gaps, too minor to matter for my application. I think it dampens vibration well enough; it passes a super simple test where using the machine on the tiles doesn't trigger a computer mouse a few feet away when it definitely would when using just using a yoga mat instead. I'm not sure how well it absorbs noise but I haven't heard any complaints from my somewhat irritable downstairs neighbor. I think my biggest complaint is that the top surface "coating" doesn't have thorough coverage on a couple tiles, which exposes the composite rubber pieces and might affect longevity. If I knew what that coating is I'd just apply more of it myself in those areas. Photo shows the color differentiation, gap in the lower right, and exposed rubber near the bottom.

Working out at home just got easier on the knees. Many of us have home gyms these days, and these tiles are perfect for creating an exercise room floor. The Traffic Master rubber floor tiles from Nike are made from 75% recycled rubber, mostly from their manufacturing process – in fact, for a week or so they will have a slight odor of new sneakers. Each tile is designed to interlock with another like a puzzle and measures 18 x 18 inches square. It takes some effort to get them to lock together, but once locked, they stay together tightly. There are 6 tiles in a box, along with end and corner finish pieces to create an approx. 3x5 foot edge finished work out area. You can vary the length versus width to suit your needs if using multiple boxes. Combining two or more boxes gives you greater coverage. Each tile is 8 MM thick, or just over a ¼ inch thick, providing excellent cushioning and impact resistance (like dropping a weight!). They cut down on noise as well, especially if placed over a wood floor or when running in place. Great for use over concrete too. The multi-color speckled tile’s color varies by box, as I used two boxed and one was a darker grey than the other, but they look fine combined. These tiles provide a floor that significantly reduces the wear and tear on your body when working out, especially is doing a cardio routine. Durable and well made, the rubber keeps a firm grip on your existing flooring surface, these do not move – which is important and safe.

Got these flooring tiles for the shed. I planned to have them in the shed for softening my floor when doing work. My son beat me to the punch and put this in the kitchen. I am working on getting these out of the kitchen so I use them. The problem is the cat, the wife and the kid love it on the floor. It is a wild color but I have to admit it is the most comfortable mat I have stood on. It is firm but forgiving. It is super durable and sheds water. Easy to put down - hard to get back from your family so get it and take to where you are using it or you will be buying more.

This is an excellent product. It easily snaps together and the outside edges are held with interlocking pieces on one end and a straight no interlocking edge. It would be easy to do a garage, patio, etc., with this in no time. It appears very durable. we are now using it on the edge of our RV steps and it just doesn't come apart, it is sturdy. There are many uses for this. The only caution is the original smell, it is extremely strong due to the rubber content. We let it stay outside for a four days and I wiped it with a lemon scent cloth. Still needed a few more days to keep the heavy smell out. Now it is good.

Our floor is all porcelain tile, which is very hard. The wife has a roll up exercise mat which is 1/8” thick, and the material is much softer. Unfortunately, being so thin, it has little cushioning on our hard floor. This mat is 8mm (about 5/16”) thick, and much denser. It’s designed for a weight room, and I expect it would be pretty good for that, as the material is very firm. I weigh a little over 200 pounds and put most of my weight on my thumb, to see how much deflection I could get. The best I could tell is that it was about 1/16” inch. We put our two mats on top of each other, and that combination is pretty good for exercising, (like sit-ups). The mat is made from recycled rubber from Nike footwear manufacturing. They note that colors may not be consistent from box to box, due to recycled content. The dovetail joints fit tight, probably a slight interference, so the seams hide nicely. Negative issues if you plan to use for an exercise mat: 1. The mat is too firm to be used for an exercise mat. 2. It doesn’t roll up without pulling apart. It’s designed to be a permanent installation on a floor. I think the mat is even too firm to be used in your wood shop. I’m going to rate this as a mat for a weight room (which is what is suggested on the box). With that in mind, I’d give it 5 stars. If your thinking of using it for exercise, I’d rate it 2.

TrafficMaster 18 in. x 18 in. Rubber Gym/Exercise Flooring Tiles These flooring tiles are industrial quality. They are very firm, actually almost hard. They are probably great for a weight room. I had intended to install these tiles in my workroom to add a bit of cushion to the floor but unfortunately the rubber smell is very strong. I decided to assemble them in my garage and let them air out for a bit, it has been almost a month and when I enter my garage I still have a rubber odor. It does not appear I will be able to move them inside my house. As to exercise other than weight lifting you might need to be careful, these tiles have a strong grip and there will not be any slip or give with your shoes. I will say they provide a good surface for working on projects. I was building a cabinet and did much of the assembly on the tiles, they worked great for that. My tiles are a dark color and when I dropped or laid something small on them it could be very difficult to locate the item. The mix of colors in the tiles really hides things. Installation was easy, assembles like a large jigsaw puzzle. The pieces fit together snugly and you can barely see the joints. Pros: Heavy industrial rubber material, easy install, great for weight room. Cons Strong rubber odor. Very hard.

I put these rubber tiles in my garage for my kids and I to "share". I use them when working on projects that require getting on the ground and my kids use them play, dance, and perform some exercises. I think they use it far more than I do though. The tiles go together easily and stay connected very well. They have a good amount of grip so don't try doing spin moves or you'll roll an ankle. They're definitely good for a weight room/ gym floor. Each set comes with six tiles and the perimeter pieces which means you don't have to cover your entire floor in the tiles, just where they're needed. For the downside there are two major issues: 1. The smell of petroleum-based products is overwhelming at first. It took almost a week in the garage to finally air them out. 2. The pieces are not the same thickness. The outer edge pieces are not the same thickness as the inner pieces. Just a quality control issue.

Having just walled off a small area of garage for a shop to sandblast & powder coat I knew I’d want something to stand on vs. straight on the concrete floor based on amount of time on my feet thus far and to come. Since the product overview said it provided cushioning as well as cutting back on noise and vibration, I thought this would work well in my shop area as flooring. Being rubber I don’t have to worry about spills. I’ve only worked on it a few times since install and don’t see a big difference in noise level but can feel the difference on my feet and legs vs. concrete alone. The box I received has a lot of red color throughout. It went together with a small degree of difficulty which I was happy for as it made for an extremely tight fit, no gaps or spaces. There is very little visible seaming and well as no seams sticking up to catch your feet on when walking upon it. You just interlock the pieces together. As a note: you will want to pay attention to the sides (top or bottom) while interlocking as there is a noticeable difference and once done very visible if you didn’t keep like sides together. I like the edges & corners for a nice even edge all the way around & additional packs can be added, as I have the spare money; until I have covered the entire working/walking area of the shop. It allows me comfort in the area I stand the most until I get the entire floor done! I’m not sure if I will need to custom cut but am glad it’s an option as I add on pieces. Very pleased, highly recommend.
