A: The Pinequilt is a great choice and made of durable ceramic clay, however, we do not claim it to be weather resistant. In extreme cold, ceramic pottery can crack. There are a number of variables such as freezing temperatures and soil moisture. When a plant is watered in extreme cold weather, the wet soil can cause contraction when the water freezes, resulting in cracks or breakage. We recommend moving ceramic pots into a warmer/drier environment, be cautious about watering in freezing temperatures, etc.
