Answer This Question

A:  There's not a cleat or any other mounting piece. We used a board, cut to size, to fit behind the back splash. There's an space that the board fit/filled in. Screwed that to the wall first. Then also drilled a hole on each side under the curved top rim. There's a small flat area under there, that part of the back. It allowed us to bolt the sink into the 2x4. This work perfectly. Other wise it would stand free, allowing movement. I'm very pleased with this sink. I've had mine for 2 years and love it. Recommend it. But think it should have those 2 holes pre-drilled. Hope this helps.

A:  There is no cleat necessary to install this model sink and none are listed in the manual. It is a very easy and basic installation. A:  I installed the sink a couple of years ago. I did not get a cleat in the box. Maybe I mistook it as packaging and tossed it, I don't remember. I used a thick bead of clear silicone around the top and sides to help hold it steady to the wall. The bead is still intact. So far so good, but I know I will fabricate a wooden cleat in the future to keep it better secured in place. My advice it to put in a cleat when first installing it. If it really does not come with a cleat in the box, fabricating one should be simple. Set the sink in place without the drain pipe and level it. Place fabricated cleat (or supplied one) in place, make your marks and remove the sink. Mount the cleat to wall now, reinstall the sink and install the drain line. I suggest to running a bead of clear silicone around the top and sides, this will help. You'll enjoy using this sink as I do. The faucet is high enough and swivels to tackle any cleaning jobs that come up. HD had the best price when I purchased mine and included free delivery.

A:  Our sink comes with a WALL ATTACHMENT that is meant to help stabilize the sink. This wall attachment is NOT MEANT to be used to mount the whole sink onto the wall as it only serves the purpose of keeping the whole utility sink stable.

A:  This replaced a sink in the laundry. Did not require anything beyond what was already there (1.5") It comes with faucet and supply lines. Just place it and hook it up. I love mine. So much nicer than the original tub, although not as big.

A:  Just like installing a kitchen sink and faucet. Standard fitting 3/8 etc. and I did use putty on the strainer installation. Again standard strainer.

A:  Yes, it is removable. You are correct, it unscrews.

A:  I can see that there is a seam there, but I am unable to unscrew it, so I don't think so.

A:  Yes it is removable by un- screwing it from the faucet neck.

This product has the design and dimensions I was looking for and the price point is attractive. Two main issues; 1. This free standing sink is unstable by itself. I am willing to drill through the back splash and use two lag bolts to fasten to the wall (I blocked the wall cavity in advance). Should be very stable from that point on. 2. The back splash is welded to the main structure of the sink. On the unit I received the back splash was mis-aligned before being welded. The left side of the back splash stands out from the wall by a good 7/8 inch while the right side is flush. It wasn't dropped and bent, this must have sat crooked in the jig while being welded. Further Home Depot customer service was not terribly helpful. The unit is back-ordered a couple of months and no decent replacement was offered.

Vey poor welding. Seams were rusty out of the package. Had to return it. But I though that was an exception as the reviews were so good. Then I ordered it again, but... same thing. I'm seriously questioning the reliability of the reviews now.

Like the sink. No problems with leaks or drainage. I did drill two holes on the back-splash to mount it to the wall. (I'm pretty sure that any free-standing sink will eventually leak if left unmounted to a wall...)

I installed this product in our laundry room yesterday. We are very impressed with the quality of the sink as well as the faucet. It is well constructed and looks very nice. The assembly instructions were easy to follow. However, they fail to mention that plumber's putty is needed to install the drain assembly. Without this, the drain leaks badly! Overall, this is a very good value.

We really like this utility sink, it has features such as backsplash, a deep basin, wide side area and ridged areas to hold soap, cleaners, etc. I do wish it had come with a sprayer however I think that it's easy enough to add a new faucet w/sprayer. It is deep enough to clean larger items and the build appears sound thus far. We finally installed it in our laundry area so it hasn't had much use yet. The only thing I would change is for there to be a piece that would mount it to the wall. Also we are planning on putting some sort of foam circles under the legs as it seems to need a bit of something extra for stability on our ceramic tile floor. The flooring may be uneven or it just a bit slicker. We also plan to add a mosaic tile backsplash for the wall knowing there are always times when water goes astray - especially when washing a wiggly pet.

My neighbor, 93 years old, myself and another neighbor installed this sink. It was very easy. It looks beautiful, better than my old plastic tub. I love the faucet. I agree with other recommendations. Must bolt to something, not freestanding. Leaves water in the sink, and leaks if you don't use something, I guess plumbers putty. I have a bucket underneath because I may move it.

                                    Looks great!
With the exception of the upside down brand emblem, this is a sharp looking sink! The stainless steel adds a high quality look and feel to a very utilitarian fixture. It is going to look and function great in our new laundry room. The basin is very deep, 13" by my measure, which will be great when we're using it with any kind of chemicals or paint - it will prevent splatter from reaching our skin, clothing, floor, or anything else around it. The faucet is great - not only does it look great, it is very tall, allowing big, bulky objects to easily fit below.

As others have stated, it rusts. I have to scour it every week. Should not have to be so much work for a utility sink.

Rusted in less than a week
We bought this sink for our garage. The corners began rusting in a few days pretty low quality.
