1 in. x 6 in. x 8 ft. Charred Wood Smoke White Pine Shiplap Board (4-Pack)

In our custom home we covered all our ceilings and some walls with the charred wood and other UFP products. It helps stand the build apart. Products are easy to work with and draw the eyes of anyone coming through.

I installed 12 boxes of this material as an accent wall behind our TV. I found the material to be a bit rougher than expected and moderate variability in dimensions of each board. Of the 12 boxes there were 2 or 3 boards that were too warped or very burned and I couldn’t use. All in all I’m pleased with the finish and the room looks awesome. Just know this is not #1 finish material and will have a bit of a rustic appearance.

The wood arrived via UPS in long boxes and were in great condition upon arrival. The wood was easy to work with and fit nicely together when assembled. The look of the grain of the wood really stands out. This wood added a nice touch to the floating bed I built.

Nice looking finish, but the quality doesn't match the price. I was recently working on a built-in entertainment center project and I decided to give this product a try to provide a textured accent for the area behind the wall-mounted TV. I chose this product primarily because of the look of the finish and given the number of other things I had to do to complete this project, having something that was pre-finished was a big plus. I really do like the look of the finish. That's probably the strongest PRO when considering this product. It looks great and wouldn't be trivial to achieve on your own without some effort. However, there are a number of CONS with this product that might have caused me to look elsewhere if I had this project to do over again. First off, there was more waste than I would expect with a pre-packaged product in this price range. These boards are much closer to rough cut than they are to any kind of finish grade – most had a pretty significant amount of cupping and there was a high degree of variability in the width of the tongues and the depth of the corresponding grooves they're intended to fit in. My biggest frustration is with the cupping of the boards. It's hard to achieve a clean finish where the ends of the boards butt against the adjacent areas when they are so significantly cupped. For the price of this product I would have been better off buying finish grade boards and cutting the rabbets for the shiplap on my table saw or even buying rough cut boards and milling them to get evenly dimensioned boards. Of course I would have had to finish them myself, but probably worth it in this case. If you're looking for something that has consistent precise dimensions with tight square edges and no cupping, this is probably not the product you're after. If you're looking for more of a rustic, rough sawn look then you'll likely be satisfied if you plan for 20-25% waste (or more) when you place your order.

Turned out amazing! We had a carpenter install it for us and he had no complaints about the install.

Product was nicely packaged, and all boards are very consistent. Really worth the extra cost compared to other barn wood tongue and groove competitors. Not a single damaged board out of 5 packages. The color, texture, and consistency was spot on.Total cost with nails, glue trim exc, 320 dollars, and created an awesome accent wall.

I am building a extra large walk-in closet. I am lining the walls with this placed vertically. It is very soft wood, but is great for this project and looks great too. It does have some variance in straight-ness, so plan ahead and order extra. I made the mistake in estimation by figuring 6 inch width, and forgot the loss in width from the overlap and didn't account for the fact that some are not perfectly square. Because it is soft, in areas where strength is needed, you'll want to use round-head nails, but if no structural strength is needed, then brads work fine.
