From the originator of modern joint finishing, USG Sheetrock Brand Paper Joint Tape adds strength and crack resistance for smooth concealment at flat joints and inside corners of drywall panels. Manufactured with a unique, strong, cross-fibered tape, it is ideal with both drying- and setting-type compounds, as it reinforces the joint compound in compression, bending and shear, and will prevent visible cracking. The roughened surface ensures a strong bond and features a positive crease that simplifies corner applications.

A:  Clint Thank you for your inquiry. USG Sheetrock Paper Drywall Joint Tape is not self adhesive. Cover joint with a thin layer of compound and embed paper joint tape, leaving about 1/32" (0.7 mm) of compound under feathered edge. While embedding the tape, remove excess compound from edge and apply a thin coat over the tape. Let dry and sand lightly as required. Apply second coat, feathering approximately 2" (50 mm) beyond first coat. Let dry, sand lightly as required and then apply third coat, feathering 2" (50 mm) beyond second coat. Sand lightly as required when dry. Hope this helps.

    A:  Obie Thank you for your inquiry. Sheetrock Brand Paper Drywall tape is designed for taping joints between wallboard panels as well as for use on inside corners. Hope this helps.

        A:  Put the mud on the joint and then put the tape on the mud and press it in with a wide spatula.
