I know that Home Depot rents brakes. I'm sure that they have a weekend rental rate. I'm not sure that it would be the same model brake that I purchased. My best advice is to call your local Home Depot and see what is available. Good luck with your project.

Will this brake bend 29 gauge aluminum trim that is 8 feet wide?

Asked by Ken February 27, 2019

Answer

Ken, I attempted to brake .032 aluminum for a special project and the brake was severely overwhelmed. .029 is not far off and if you achieve a brake with that gauge I would imagine is would not be crisp brake. Hope this helps. Matt

When the brake arrived the first time one of the arms was broken. So I had to reorder it. I bought this brake because it was portable and the lightest of all the 8 foot brakes at 76 pounds. I is good for any DIYer looking for a basic no nonsense brake. I wish you could put accessories such as the trim cutter.

Light and easy to use. Seems fairly well constructed. I have only been using this model for two months however, so time may change my view on durability. The only minor setback with this item, was that in my case it did not come with setup instructions (perhaps a random error before shipping) and there are very few online resources to assist. With this being said, setup proved to be fairly easy despite this.
