A:  Yes, a case of 2 was a box with two 1 quarts cans in it. We actually got two cases/ 4 quarts.

        A:  I can't say, I didn't ask that - I just kept the extra (we ordered two cases to get the needed 2 + quarts the cabinet maker needed - that gave us 4 quarts, so I have some left over which I might use on some other trim and projects in the future. I guess you could ask Customer Service, I'd think they would know their policy.

            What you'll notice first after preparing the surface as per the instructions is the consistency it's somewhat thicker than other stains you might have used, hence the one coat application. There is an odor, while not overwhelming it does linger. Another nice feature, quick drying, polyurethane can be applied after one hour. I applied the stain on a piece of unfinished furniture, even finish and consistent color but darker than expected. It's too bad the furniture wasn't of better quality, because the stain does show the imperfections of the wood and assembly (glue, filler). Varathane Wood Stains will be the “go to” for all future projects.

            Great stain but a little darker than pictured
            This is a great stain. I was able to stain a whole bench using only one coat and I still had half a can left. It doesn't have a strong odor. The stain was easy to apply and the color was pretty even on the whole bench. The color was a little darker than pictured on the can but it still was a great color. It dried pretty fast too (about and hour).
