A:  Thank you for your question. The recommended fasteners for attaching the rails to the posts are the matching rail brackets for between the post installation, or 4" lag screws for face-mounting the rails. Please review the installation instructions at www.verandadeck.com.

Q:I need to replace my deck boards. Can these be used for that?

      Answer This Question

A:  I don't see why not, but why would you, when they weren't intended for deck boards. There are composite boards specifically made/designed for being deck boards. I wouldn't use these for deck boards.

      by|Apr 17, 2019

A:  hank you for your question. No, these cannot be used as they are not tested for compliance with weight-bearing standards for a deck surface.

A:  Well, yes, you can drill into them. I drilled into it for the gate latch. Not sure what your definition of “looks right” means. Are you meaning ballisters? If so, it would work.

                      Started splitting after 4 months
Very disappointed. After spending over $2000 and many hours installing the fence the composite material covering the wood has started to split apart at the 4 month mark.

Overall quality and ease to construct was good. Post and rails colors match well but pickets do not. They are brown grey.Instructions state to use staple to attach the pickets to the rails. No matching staple, even at Home Depot. Had to use screws. Rail brackets interfere picket alignment.

                      hard to find item
We used this item for " 2x4 " picnic table set & bench. The Veranda Co. uses a staple at the end to keep the wood from coming out when you trim the rail to fit. Should use more staples so wood stays in place.
