I used it to put up a rain gauge. I used pvc pipe and fitting, drilled holes in the bottom for drainage and filled with rocks to keep it from blowing over on windy days. Placed it on top of retaining wall blocks.

broke in half less than 1 mibth after ourchase
This barrell sooit in half today. It wasnt even 1 month okd!

Style and size!
Great for larger plants. Or you can fit lots of flowers as we did. Seems to be nice and sturdy. Should hold up well.

Love this planter
I drilled holes in the bottom so that it did not hold too much water. I also added about a 2-3 inch layer of gravel/rock before adding the soil so that it stays well drained. But if you live in a dry area you probably would not have to do this. Just add the soil.
I also bought 2 for my MIL and she loved them.

My daughter’s garden hose was lying in a pile of dirt. You can only image what it looked like after it rained. This decorative barrel was perfect. Weather resistant, looks great, and a perfect size to house her hose. I drilled several holes in the bottom to allow for drainage.

Plastic "barrel" planters
Good-looking, medium size barrel now holding raspberry plants. I drilled a hole in the bottom to let out water, put 2 foam blocks in the bottom to decrease weight and amount of dirt needed to fill. Raspberries seem to be thriving. So far they're holding up to the sun well. I've had them for about 3 months.
