This versatile machine both aerates your lawn while also removing thatch, debris, dead grass, and other unwanted organic matter. If left untended, this organic buildup prevents your lawn from getting the full amount of nutrients, air, and water that it needs to thrive. Our powerful 13 Amp motor rotates up to 3300 times per minute, clearing a path up to 15 in. W with each pass. The unwanted thatch is then collected into the included detachable collection bag. Choose between the 16-blade scarifying head and the 24 steel-tine dethatching head depending on the task at hand. The 5-position height adjustment features 5 depth settings: plus 1/4 in. minus 1/8 in. minus 1/4 in. minus 3/8 in. minus 1/2 in. Overload protection automatically stops the motor during contact with hard rocks, concrete, and other immovable objects, preventing damage to the scarifier and the blades. A:  At 13 amps current draw, you can expect the unit to draw 15 amps occasionally. At that current draw you will need a 12 gauge extension cord once you go from a 25 to a 50 foot extension cord. Check your circuit breaker rating as well.

    A:  The motor pulls 13 amps so for a 100? extension cord you would need 12 gauge wire. You could get away with 14 gauge wire up to 75?.

      Perfect for the weekend warrior
      This dethatcher is perfect for the weekend warrior or average DIYer who is looking to improve their lawn. Minimal assembly required and is pretty easy to follow along. Blade is swappable for a scarifier which is similar to aerating your yard. Won’t be using this for the whole yard until early spring though. This device is obviously corded so you will need to make sure you have an appropriate extension cord for successful use.

      This Wen dethatcher and scarifier looks to be a good idea for improving the grass. It has a fifteen amp electric motor producing thirty three hundred RPM. The sixteen inch wide unit is good for small to medium size plots. There are five positions in height attunement ranging from one quarter inch above to a half inch below ground. Two different removable heads are included. A dethatching head has 24 steel tines to get up and collect the thatch in the included collection bag. The 20-blade scarifying head aerates the lawn. My plans for this dethatcher and scarifier will have to be put on hold for next spring. A friend told me how his lawn is so much nicer and fuller, so I decided to try it. Then learned it should be done in the spring or early fall.

      Works fine
      Gift for my son in law and my son to share. Both says it works well in the yard. One had Bermuda grass and other has a zoysia type grass. They share this piece of equipment. They like the way the Dethacher and scarifier folds up for easy transport in a car and also for storing on a shelf. It is easy to use and push around the yard. Would recommend so you don’t have to pay some company to do this chore yearly! You can always make your teenager do this chore!
