It's a dust collector, not a shaving collector - Don't compare to a Shop Vac
Works better than expected. I'm using it for my wood lathe to collect the fine dusts generated while cutting and sanding. I have it mounted on the wall with about 10' of mixed ridged and flex ducting with no blast gates and a cyclone dust separator inline. I run it for about 3 to 4 hours at a time. The motor does get a bit hot, but expected. I wasn't expecting it to handle wood shavings (because it's a dust collector, not shaving collector. That's what a shop vac is for).

WEN 7.4 Amp Rolling Dust Collector with Induction Motor, 15 Gal. Bag and Optional Wall Mount
This is dust collector a good solution for home or garage workshops, it can be moved from machine to machine quickly and easily. Not everyone has room or the budget for a shop-wide dust collection system, but this model can go a long way to keeping your shop area clean, and, more importantly, keeping fine dust out of your lungs. I assembled the dust collector and tested it with my tablesaw, band saw and disc/belt sander. It did a decent job catching the sawdust from the tablesaw and a very good job on the band saw and sander. I haven’t tried it on my jointer or thickness planer, but with the volume of wood chips from those machines, it may fill up quickly. I tried it with a small cyclone wood chip separator that I use with a shop-vac; this didn’t work because it restricted the air flow too much; maybe a larger one would work. The unit comes with brackets for optional wall mounting, but I prefer keeping it mobile. The dust collector’s hose-connection inlet and the outlet to the dust bag are both 4”; a standard size. The dust bag has a zipper for emptying and is held onto the outlet with a 4” hose clamp; I am looking at a better option. It moves about 600 cu. ft. of air/minute which seems adequate for capturing most of the dust.

      Perfect for the shop!
This 15 gallon dust collector is perfect for the small shop! It is very convenient to use and move around since it is attached to a wheeled base. The manufacturer, WEN, has also including a wall mounting bracket should you choose to go that route. Installation was pretty simple and took about 15-30 minutes. The wheels can be a little finicky to attach. My shop is small, so this works great to move around to the table saw, planer, etc whenever each one is being used. I’m not sure how well it would hold up in a large shop. The dust collection is great and I will probably end up adding a chip separator to it. Highly recommend!

Powerful, portable, and filters air to 5 microns
Dust is the worse part of an in-home workshop or inside improvement project. From wood cutting to drywall sanding – you don’t want dust in the air or migrating throughout the house – or in your lungs. This portable unit does a great job in the workshop and can be used to filter most dust on a jobsite if you rig a dust collector hose and inlet. The WEN model DC3474 features a powerful 7.4 Amp motor that spins the 9-inch impeller at 3450 RPM and produces air movement of 650 CFM. This thing can suck! The attached 15-gallon capacity dust collection bag filters air down to 5 microns, effective even for most drywall dust and very effective on 30 micro saw dust. The inlet is designed for a four-inch hose, and you can purchase hose and attachments for tools from Home Depot separately. I also bough a 4 to 2 ½ inch adaptor (standard shop vac hose size and port size on most workshop tools) to add to the unit’s versatility. his unit has four swivel castors and a handle for ease of movement, and it comes with two brackets for optional wall mounting. Combining this unit with an overhead fine filter system results in a thoroughly dust free environment in your workshop. The dust collector is backed by a two-year warranty.

      Great for Home Shop/Use
I’ve always wanted a dust collection unit for my home shop so I don’t have to take 2 hours Vacuuming every weekend and I finally got this WEN 7.4 Amp rolling dust collector l. Comes with a 15 gallon bag and options for wall mount. Super easy set out of the box. Only takes about 20 minutes for set up. This unit is very quite and easy to roll around. Suction is strong. Definitely good for mitre saws and table saws. I would definitely recommend this.

      Great tool for the DIYer
For those interested in country of origin, this product was manufactured in CHINA. I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to the shop vacuum systems to collect the particles, dust, and shavings from my wood crafting hobby. Was not looking for an expensive, multi-simultaneous vacuum system. This seemed to be a good choice, as I have had several good experiences with WEN products in the past. Assembly of the unit took 30 minutes. Had one issue with a bad caster but WEN sent a replacement immediately. Used a makeshift induction hose to simulate the collection and there was significant suction to accumulate from my Radial Arm Saw. I was disappointed that there was no hose assembly included, no package notice that you need a hose, no notice at all. Would have given this a 5 star rating if I could have adequately tested it.

The Wen 15 gallon dust collector goes together very easily and can be setup unless than 30 minutes if you have a 4 inch dust collector adapter kit to connect it to your tools. Most of the time was spent screwing in the casters, if you plan on wall mounting if you can forgo this step. One day I plan on mounting it to the wall but for now it's nice to have it be mobile until I get my shop more setup for it. Currently I have it connected to my table saw and it dramatically reduces the amount of dust on the floor and in the air. I’m looking forward to having a cleaner shop and not wasting so much time sweeping up! The powder coat on the unit has a nice hammer tone finish and seems very durable and easy to clean. See the close up picture for the hammer tone/wrinkle finish; it is on the orange body and black handle. At this price point I was pleased to see a metal blade in the suction turbine, it seems like it should be very durable and have a long life. The on off switch is very hefty and it comes with a breaker you can reset if the unit trips. I have not tripped it yet but it seems like a good failsafe to have if the turbine gets jammed with a piece of debris. While this dust collector is on the lower end for price it does not seem like they sacrificed quality or took any shortcuts when making it.

The WEN 15 gallon rolling dust collector is so much better than the Craftsman shop vac that I have been using for years. I always thought that the dust collection on my Dewalt table saw was horrible because I was always left with a pile of saw dust on the floor after just a few cuts. But, with WEN dust collector there isn’t any saw dust on the floor after making cuts; this proves to me that the problem was that my shop vac just didn’t have enough suction. And, the WEN dust collector is much quieter that the shop vac. The portability of the WEN dust collector is working great; I am currently moving it from tool to tool, but I plan to install piping and blast gates so that it can remain permanently mounted to the wall. This will give me back the much needed floor space. I would definitely buy this again, and I highly recommend it to any weekend woodworker!

Just received my "WEN 15 GAL.DUST COLLECTOR" Unpacked it and put it together for a test to see how loud it was. It was surprisingly very quiet and put out a lot of air into the collector bag. We purchased the 10Ft. hose and adapters and sucked up a lot of sawdust around our saw and it worked great. I am going to mount it on the wall between my router and table saw for easy access for dust collecting. I am glad WEN made such a quality product with heavy mounting hardware and a possible rolling unit if needed to move around the shop all included in the box.

This is a well built unit with heavy gage steel construction. The decibel level when this is running is significantly lower than my shop vac. It it comes with casters for mobile use and wall hangers for off-the-floor installation. Because of these plusses I'd really like to give it a 5 star rating, but it's not quite there. After acquiring a 20' hose and correct adapters, it just falls short of what I expected. I've attached it to my Craftsman table saw and mitre saw, as well as an off brand router table. With all of these tools I still get a significant amount of saw dust around the shop. While I was not expecting zero dust, I did think that at 600 CFMs it would be reduced more than it is. Made in China.
