Q:Is 12.5 amps the maximum draw when it's on the high end of the temperature? Will it draw less for lower temperature?
    by|Apr 24, 2023
    2 Answers
    Answer This Question

A:  Yes, 12.5 A is the max draw with fan on highest and temperature at highest (1300 F). Here are current draws I measured with fan on highest: 200 F, 2.4 A // 400 F, 8.0 A // 700 F, 10.7 A // 1300 F, 11.7 A. It did not draw the full 12.5 A in my test because my 15 A circuit started at 122 volts with no current draw, but the voltage dropped to 117 volts at max current draw with temp set to 1300 F. If you want absolute maximum performance, you should use a 120v/20A circuit, but it will go up to 1300 F with a little loss of fan speed on a 15A circuit.

            The Screen Became Unreadable
The gun performed well. Unfortunately dust can get behind the screen and make it virtually unreadable. The adjustability is nice but without a functioning display you are left just guessing.

We're sorry to hear that. Most dust can be gently removed from the tool by using and air gun (canned or compressor) to push it out. If it becomes an issue contact us at 1-800-328-8251. WagnerSprayTech

Very easy to use. Quickly reaches the set temperature and cools down safely. I have only removed paint to this point and had an easy time adjusting the temperature to suit my needs.

              Versatile and Capable Heat Gun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you’re like me, the last tool you thought about adding to the tool cabinet was a heat gun. My first was rather basic and had settings for Off, On, Hot, and Cool, not at all as capable as my new Wagner Furno 750. On the Furno heat settings range from 650 to 1300 degrees F. in increments of 10 degrees. There are multiple fan settings and a collection of nozzles for different uses. The combinations are endless and really expand the usability of this heat gun. The manual details some common uses but here are my additions: drying a cardboard shipping box that I had errantly left out in the rain so a label could be attached; removing moisture from mortar joint repairs to my patio before I treated them with a sealant (some areas took longer than others but it did work); heating PVC flexible pipe so that I could take apart connections and save the fittings (1300 degrees was probably overkill on this one); and heating PVC flexible pipe to make insertion of fittings easier. I originally got this thing to help my son remove paint from the brick walls of his garage before repainting but the weather hasn’t cooperated and now this is a job for spring. Looks like it will be a while before I get a chance to use the included scraper tool. As to the Furno itself, it is light to hold and relatively quiet to operate. The stand-up feature is awesome and the carrying case keeps everything in order and takes little room on the storage shelf. Cool down is relatively quick except for the attachments (You’re probably more of a pro than I am but just in case these puppies get hot and stay hot.). I’m glad I selected this Furno Heat Gun and did not settle for a less capable brand.

                  works fast!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As soon as I received the Furno 750 is was anxious to try it out. I had an old table with ancient layers of varnish. It was old and cracked. I used the Furnio and it worked like a charm. I completely removed the old varnish from the top in about an hour with no fumes or gooey mess. I highly reccommend it. Clean, easy to use and efficient. I also use it to dry paint more quickly as it has several heat settings.

                    Lightweight, User Friendly
Just as I've come to expect from Wagner products, this heat gun is a total home run. From intuitive digital displays, to fashioning the gun so it stands on its own, Wagner has thought of just about everything. It has a great temperature range that should be more than sufficient for any DIYer, and adjustable fan speed is a bonus. Four nozzle attachments are included, and a thoughtfully designed storage case keeps it all together - it even doubles as a stand that holds the gun securely while it's not in use or cooling off. I've already used it for chemical woodburning and stripping paint, and it was perfect for both. Can't think of anything that this gun is lacking - great product!

                    Powerful with Digital Read
I like that this comes in a carrying case. Very easy to travel with as well as stay organized. I like the 4 different tips which i never knew existed and were necessary. I have the 4 tips as well as their description in one of the pictures. Digital read is great when you need to select a certain temperature. The Gun goes from 120 degrees to 1300 degrees. The FURNO 750 is designed to stand on its own when doing different projects. Very easy to use and understand.

                    Great Heat Gun, Very Versatile
The Furno 750 Heat Gun is one of the best heat guns that I have ever used. It comes with everything needed for most projects. Starting with the storage case, it has a built-in heat gun holder. If you are in an area where there's no flat surfaces the case doubles with its snap in heat gun holder. Even though the heat gun stands very easy on its tail its nice to have a back up holder. The gun has a wonderful range of heat and fan settings. It has plenty of heating power and the fan can push the heat out to make short work of any project. But it also can put out a very gentle breeze. Sometimes it's hard to keep some heat guns from pushing small light parts and pieces all over the place. This gun can handle heating very light objects with ease. It also has an automatic cool down cycle to extend the life of the heating element. The guns temperature and fan settings are easy to select with its large easy to read screen and clearly marked buttons. This is one area that makes this heat gun a joy to use. It even comes with a temperature range chart (in the instructions and end flap of box) so selecting the heat and fan setting is very easy to do. The gun is very easy to handle, the grip area is rubberized so its easy to grip. The gun is well balanced in your hand. It comes with four attachments; a concentrator two fans and a wrap around for thawing pipes and doing shrink tubing. There is also a good scarper included for removing paint and decals. When you're done its easy to put everything back into the case for storage. There is also plenty of room for the cord. They got it right with this heat gun, its easy to use powerful but can also do delicate work as well. Even the instructions are done nicely, everything is clearly explained and detailed in the accompanying charts drawings and photos.
