Q:I just tried my sprayer. The trigger does nothing. As soon as I switch the machine on, air flows through the spray gun. What is going on ? Did I get a defective sprayer?
by|Jan 9, 2024

Answer This Question

A:  It's called a bleeder gun and it's how most HVLP systems work. Pull the trigger to add fluid to the airflow for atomization. Spray from 6" away and apply a wet coat with each pass, not three passes to get it wet. Contact us for more help at 1-800-328-8251.

Q:What kind of paint can be use?

    Answer This Question

A:  Our Home Decor HVLP is a crafting paint sprayer for small projects. Any water based or oil based paint, stain or finish is fine, as long as it's thin enough for atomization. Call us for more help at 1-800-328-8251.

Q:Can this item be used for painting ceilings?
      by|Aug 8, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  The Home Decor is designed to spray chalk type, milk and most other decorative paints. It is not really designed for standard latex paints as they could be too thick. That being said this sprayer can be used to spray a ceiling but you need to be careful. It cannot be tilted upwards at more than a 45 degree angle. If you tilt it too far paint could run in to the motor and burn up the sprayer. If you have any further questions or would like to discuss this feel free to call us at 1-800-328-8251.

Q:Can use this to paint walls
        by|Jun 9, 2023

        Answer This Question

A:  The Home Decor is designed to spray decorative paints like milk and chalk, stains, sealers, and water base lacquers. It will provide the best results on projects like furniture, cabinets, trim, etc... When spraying walls you generally use thicker paints which require a sprayer with a bigger motor. If you would like to discuss this or have further questions feel free to give us a call at 1-800-328-8251.

        by|Jun 9, 2023

A:  Yes. You can use it to paint walls. However, it's probably faster using a paint roller and possibly, only one coat would be adequate.

              Really great tool!
Made very quick work of the railings and steps on our 30 x 7 1/2 foot porch. It took about as long to set up the drop cloths with push pins as it did to spray the stain on the redwood. The vessel for the stain is a little smallish, but I only had to refill it for about every 5 or 6 feet or so. The stain was very thin so I dialed the material input to a very low setting. So easy to apply, and about as easy to clean up. The floor is made up of Trex deck boards so we didn't stain that, of course. If you are staining an outdoor porch or deck I recommend deckstainhelp.com. Very informative and if you have additional questions that aren't already answered, they respond quickly. Our porch was about 5 months old (weathered), and we power washed it first. Our power washer is 1,800 PSI and we were able to get as close as 6 in before it would damage the redwood. Let it dry a couple of days before applying the stain. Looks gorgeous!

I love this paint sprayer!! I'm so mad I didn't get one sooner. I love refinishing furniture, but I always assumed things like this would be really expensive to buy. Then I discovered this sprayer and saw how good the reviews were, so I took a chance on it. I was, admittedly, a little intimidated and was scared it would be a huge mess with overspray, but there was shockingly very little! I had a little overspray on my hands, but nothing on my clothes at all. Took me maybe 10 minutes to get everything set up, and then I went to work on a china cabinet. I did the first coat (latex interior paint) on the interior of the cabinet and it took MAYBE 15 minutes, and the coverage was so good that I barely needed a second coat. This would have easily taken me a couple of hours if I painted with a brush and roller, and the quality would have been much less satisfactory. The finish is so smooth and perfect. It did take me a minute or two to figure out the proper flow setting, but after that it was smooth sailing! Cleaning the gun is a little tedious, but I would say it's less time consuming than cleaning a brush and roller. Makes me so excited to take on more DIY projects!

                  Great little painter
The second one was a charm. When we opened the first one, it was a hot mess. It was one someone had returned. This is a great little painter. Someone on YouTube called it a painter on training wheels. That is just what it is. This was so easy to use, that my granddaughter took over and painted the be below her self. The only issue was cleaning. Once you get the hang of it, it will be easy. The best way to clean is taking it apart and make sure you press the handle down to have all the paint come out.

Used this for bathroom cabinets. Day 1 was excellent, went on smooth, very easy to use and set up. I couldn't believe the accuracy and control. I would give this 5 stars but day 2 after a cleaning (which was very easy to take apart) the sprayer continued to spray without pulling the trigger. When it was pulled the paint came out in spurts. Maybe user error, Wagner any tips?

Thanks for sharing your experience. The reason it is streaming paint out is that the retaining ring on the front is loose. This allows the nozzle to move away from the needle, breaking the seal and when under pressure, paint flows out. Good luck with all your projects. WagnerSprayTech

I was looking for something that I could use to help make staining my fence a little less labor intensive but also didn't want to buy a professional sprayer. Unfortunately, our HOA requires all houses to have a "Shadow-Box" style fence. If you aren't familiar with that fence style, Google it and you will see that it is probably one of the toughest fences to clean, pressure wash, stain, etc. The perk of this style of fence installation is that it looks the same on both sides. I started off with allowing the least amount of stain coming out of the spray as possible because I wasn't sure how it was going to work. After I played around with the spray volume and adjusted the spray pattern, I quickly learned it would save me time on staining the fence. The pros: Relatively inexpensive, easy to use The cons: Have to refill very often, need to clean every part thoroughly right after usage and let dry. I made the mistake of only cleaning some parts overnight and when I tried to use the sprayer the next morning, I noticed it wasn't performing as well as before. After cleaning everything, the sprayer was back to normal. Overall if I had to do it all over again, I would rent a commercial sprayer where a 5-gallon bucket of stain can be directly inserted but for the Wagner sprayer being under $100, it was better than using a brush.

My first experience with the paint stray. we were struggling with the brush for about two days to paint a cabinet when we decided to change the course. The cabinet was pitch black and we wanted it white. Results were awesome. Looks professional :) Highly recommend this product. Very easy to use.

The air is very forceful so it tends to be really messy. It blows whether you are actively painting or not, with such force that it makes every project an ordeal. To be fair I was using stain, so cleanup was tricky
