Pressure-Treated Pine meets the highest grading standards for strength and appearance. This double treated Ground Contact lumber must be used for applications where treated lumber is difficult to maintain, repair or replace. Treated lumber is critical to the performance and safety of an entire system or construction such as deck joists, beams and ledger boards. An additional benefit of treated lumber is its defense against rot and insect infestation for its vast majority of applications. Southern yellow pine is responsibly manufactured, safe, and environmentally friendly when used as directed.Treated wood is typically still wet when it's delivered to The Home Depot or job site. As it dries, you should expect slight changes in width and length. As lumber dries, it may split, cup and warp. This is more likely to occur to occur in lower-grade boards, where knots and uneven grains are already present. Each piece of lumber is unique and carries physical characteristics that may include the following: knots, warping, shrinkage, swelling and/or splitting.

Luis, Please check with your local Home Depot Store for product availability in your area. It’s likely that you will need to purchase an 18’ or 20’ board and cut to the 17’ length that is needed. Your local store can provide you with a list of services they provide, including the possible option of cutting lumber to the length you need for your project.
Wood, please contact your local Home Depot for product availability in your area.
Sean, we do not recommend a traditional paint method for ProWood Lumber, as paint does not always adhere as the customer would like. However, if your project does call for paint, be sure the lumber is dry and ready to accept paint. Your climate will affect when the product is ready to accept a paint or stain (and sealer). Know when to apply a wood sealer by dripping water onto the deck surface. If the water quickly absorbs into the wood, it's ready to accept a paint/stain. If the water droplets bead up, the product will not be able to accept the paint/stain.
Larry, Since this product is rated for ground contact, it would work well for a boat trailer. One thing to keep in mind is that aluminum contact is not recommend with ProWood products are immersed in water or are subject to frequent and prolonged wetting. In cases where this may happen, we suggest a moisture resistant barrier between the pressure treated lumber and the aluminum building products.
Robbie, this product is pressure treated to be used for ground contact and is ideal for outdoor projects such as decks, walkways and landscaping. Please check with local building codes to ensure that this product would meet code requirements for your application.
KRIS- Yes, treated timbers used to construct raised vegetable gardens and flowerbeds are increasingly popular and practical. Treated wood used for tomato stakes, flowerbed edging, planters, trellises and compost bins have the added advantage of long-term durability. UFPI Representative
